Hoppo on BladesMad, a very reliable ITK (called scougs, brayford, mcnulty and campell ryce days before they were confirmed) reckons he's signed to be confirmed after the weekend. Great piece of business if it proves true. UTB

Also another ITK Dave78 has heard it's a DONE DEAL! to be confirmed later this week or next.
Post #5: http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=463&fid=221&sty=2&act=1&mid=2111108343

Are you ITK aswell then?

Well I know the same person and can confirm that its a very trustworthy source but dont get that much info out of him. If he says its done I will be counting as defo though

Starts for the Scotland U21's tonight on Sky Sports 1, Scougs is on the bench.

Well Scotland's youngsters are receiving a beating. McGinn's looked okay, was at fault for the 3rd though. Hit the post and looks more of a threat going forward so I'm not sure why he's playing a holding midfield role.

Tried to watch that and the Scotland-Nigeria game at the same time. Who says men can't multi task!

Could tell early on the young ones were up against a much better team, wasn't surprised by the score I switched off at 4-0.

John can play the holding role really well, sadly last night the whole team were just out classed. When we played Celtic last season he came up against Victor Wanyama who is 3 times the size of John but i've never seen anyone own a guy so much on the park. Wanyama was bouncing off him at times, John had him in his back pocket. Wanyama then gets a £12M move to the EPL....

Going by on here the deal looks pretty much done, not heard much up here. Will be gutted when he goes.

The way we're going, I think it prudent to approach the Scottish FA to ask whether the Scotland U21 side can play in red & white stripes :)

Rumour has it United bid 400k and we have rejected that straight away again.

Our board are playing hard ball. I think we can get a bit more for him. Considering we will be due 300k if we walks at the end of his contract next season anyway and add in his talent.

Naturally-for years we are tight as the scottish!

There is talk that we want him to replace Connor Coady, who last season showed that he could get on the score sheet now and then, scoring five goals after new year. As we played with a lone striker it was important that our midfielders got forward and into the box and Coady did that.

Any thoughts on McGinn's modest goal record, 4 goals in 52 starts? Can you see him improve on that, or will he be more suited to a holding role, presently occupied by Michael Doyle?

On bm. Dave 78 bid was accepted but then rejected. Could have something to do with Steve Evans. He has
Been monitoring for a while and was up there the other night

He is an all rounder. He can do the dirty work but is very composed in the oppositions half too. It took him a while to get his first goal but when he did you could see he will kick on and he did. He scored 3 this season which is decent considering he has played holding role and been on the left. Notice the composure on the ball for this goal he set up, most players would panic. This boy has a footballing brain . We were 2-0 down in this game, 2-1 with 5 mins to go we then equalise with a penalty. Then this happened 1 minute later. How many players would have blasted the ball off the defender for a corner? Not John he does a classic Cruyff turn and we get a goal out of it.

Rotherham are interested in Stevie May the St Johnstone striker. He was probably up watching him, maybe Mcginn caught his eye.

I think we can hopefully get another 200k for him. 600k would do it I think.

Hope you're right, Dave 78 thinks they may start a bidding war for him. Can just hear pie man saying he decided to join
A championship club rather than a league 1 club. He will be pleased to get 1 up on us for nicking Taylor from under
His nose last season

They have put several bids in the past for May. St Johnstone value him at £1,000,000 though. Don't know if Rotherham can afford that.

I take it nobody likes Steve Evans then haha. Not popular up here either.

Correct. Definitely not liked by United fans due to comment's he has made. He didn't like it when we beat them when we
Had several youngsters in the team. It really got to him. Don't know where they are getting money from. Ground cost 35m and have no debt. Owner has said he will be backed to bring in players he wants and he has been monitoring both players. Give him his due though he can pick a good player

Also reported on RS today that chairman Tony Stewart said it's a case of when not if they will get to the PL

Would anyone bet against them getting there before any of the two Sheffield clubs?

I am putting money on Rotherham coming straight back down...

Sorry but Rotherham in the PL is laughable. It'd take a one-off wonder season of Blackpool proportions for that to happen.

Tony Stewart's words seem to suggest he expects they'll be persistent promotion contenders... no chance.

This is why ITKs are useless. Even if they do have the information they misinterpret it. How many times we've heard something is a 'done deal' only for it not to go through? Then they bleat excuses about another team swooping in or last minute hitches. Well it's not a bloody done deal then is it, if it's not done!

Its OK knowing a guy at the Club who says 'We've had an offer accepted for such-and-such' but if you then go telling everyone 'We've signed such-and-such' then your info is no better than anyone else's.
