Or Xavi?

The result will obviously take the shine off tonight, however I feel like huge amounts of praise is deserved for Lunny for that performance! Quality in possession, crisp passing & quality through balls that the best defense in the league just couldn't handle.

Had the forwards done their job properly, we'd be walking away with a handsome win tonight & Lundstram would have ended up with about 5 assists.

Awesome

He got better for me. Poor in patches tho, giving the ball away cheeply.

Fleck is far better for me.

Should really have probably done better with a couple of shots but was excellent tonight.

He gives the ball away because he actually tries to play the forward in. Sure, it doesn't always work, but that reverse pass for the goal was a difficult ball.

That midfield has got to be the midfield until the end of the season and if that means Duffy or Brooks playing as false striker or number 10 then thats what we need. We looked athletic and assured in possession and too often this season, especially after Coutts' injury, its been one or the other.

The things he does well make me think he could be a quality player. Defended him all along. However, about half a dozen times tonight he did something stupid trying to be far too clever or just punting it for no reason. All he needs to is iron out the few mistakes from his game and he'll be great for us.

This lad was absolute quality today, I'm sorry. Gave the ball away a few times but he's a risk taker, there's a stat concerning De Bruyne about how many times he gives the ball away but he answers with the fact his game is based on risk. Anyway, Lunny absolute quality lad, oozing confidence and had a few efforts.

Exactly. What he's starting to add to his toolbox is the confidence to drive us forward. Since Christmas we've been crying out for someone in midfield to take some risks and create some chances and Lunny is beginning to play that role. Still a lot to learn and his not as consistent as he should be, but at 24 he's only getting better.

Played very well in difficult conditions tonight. We deserved to win this one.

We saw the best and worst of him tonight in my opinion, you can see why Wilder picks him against a physical bunch like Cardiff. He’s great at putting the odd tackle in and winning 50:50s but he does need to improve his decision making and forward passes to be a staple in our first team

Was twice as good as Evans tonight. We have a real asset next season in Lundstram. Fleck Lundstram and Coutts in the same team would be majestic.

I thought he had a good game in general but he needs to work on his finishing, the theory behind shooting with the side of your foot is to be more accurate than blasting it, but his side foot efforts all go over the bar, he should do better. He also plays a forward ball over his shoulder without looking too many times, but as I said in general had a good game.

“Could” be majestic. I think a midfield trio of Evans Coutts and Lundstram is more likely. Hope not but every chance Fleck could go.

He started slowly but I’ve been saying for a while now
That Lunny looks a real player, remember he’s still young and could end up being our best midfielder.

Other way round ,Evans is a much better player , his removal was the pivotal moment of the game.
Basham was MOM anyway.

I believe the stats will show Evans made less tackles, less forward passes less everything.

I always prefer Evans and Lundstram in the same side.

Lundstram is a real enigma. Infuriates the hell out of me! You can see how much quality he has but he has a real brittle confidence; he needs to believe in himself so much more.

At start of season, Wilder used him to close games out - indicating he was more of a defensive midfielder - but it’s becoming clear that he is better on the front foot. Box to box, he clearly has the quality and I think he can make it here but he has got to believe in himself and take a risk sometimes. Too much turning back and slowing things down and always seems to have a mad five minutes where he gives the ball away ten times!
