John Lundstam to shine

Wasn’t good enough for us when he joined, wasn’t good enough for us last season and certainly won’t be good enough for us next season. He is a top end L1, bottom end championship level footballer.

Another player whose minutes spent on the pitch next season will be in negative correlation with our chances of staying up.

His presence in the squad come August will be the canary in the mine for our season’s hopes.

Well we may as well write to the PL now then and tell them we're not coming because he's not been released or transfer listed.

Burnley stayed up with Joe Hart in the net for half a season, now he's an albatross around your proverbial neck. We'll be reyt. If we go down it won't be because of anything Lundstram has done, unless he buys the club and sells us to a tramp who can't pay the bills, and we subsequently get docked 12 points.

Lundstram is a good at what he does

He's not as creative as Fleck Duffy or .Norwood. But we won't be dominating games as much and will need his strength to win the ball back more. It's why Chris has kept him. In the run in when he came on we closed games down better. Thats what hes does. He's the modern day Bob Booker

We are going to get some pastings at Citeh, Arsenal etc so there will be much more bed wetting on here.

Obviously we will need a scapegoat so cleverly Chris has kept Lunny. This will allow him to be blamed for being slow, poor ball control, leaden footed and probably Brexit and global warming too.

FWIW, I rate the lad and think he has never had enough of a run to show his true worth.

Scape coating Lundstram next season?

In my youth, I used to play the didgeridoo to a high standard. I was good at circular breathing. I could suck air in through my nose whilst blowing it out through my mouth at the same time, allowing me to produce a continuous mellifluous tone without interruption. I have used the same technique to boo Lundstram for the last two years without a break. I started in July 2017, and I’m still doing it as I’m typing this post.

The ball he put thru to Donaldson at Villa away a few years ago was unbelievable

The over the shoulder left foot volley I buried in the top corner that one time at Wednesday night 5-a-side was a thing of sheer Bergkamp-esque beauty.

Never managed to recreate it since mind.

Still, if I'm not at least on the bench for City away i'll be knocking on Wilder's door.

Lunny had his big chance when Coutts broke his leg and couldn't take it, CW ended up bringing in Evans to fill the position.
To neutralise an opposition player like Monty (occasionally) did you have to be able to get near them which Lunny cant quite do with average players never mind top quality midfielders.
If anyone thinks that premier league refs will let him get away with 'Grealishing' the top flight diving specialists think again, 10 men could be a regular occurrence.
How many times last season did CW bring him on to 'shore up midfield' and we ended up desperately hanging on or conceding late goals? Got away with that tactic in the Championship, but will get mullered in prem if we try that.
Sorry, Lunny is all heart but that will not count for anything at this level.

Yes, becasue defending as a team is a myth and any goals conceded can ALWAYS be put down to one player, especially the team scapegoat.

I came out of that quite well too....

Me, smug? Nah....

Well, just a bit.

I don’t feel guilty about last 2 years at all, he wasn’t very good! Simple as that

This aged well from the summer..... some great comments in there.

Unfortunately all likes for the original post and credit it might have resulted in are ineligible for spelling the player’s name incorrectly. I believe another poster came similarly unstuck with their “Lundstrum will not only play, he’ll be an FPL god” post from June. Seems unfair, but those are the forum rules as I understand them.

I have a feeling we will see a lot more of JL next season. He is looking fit and strong which we will definitely need. Despite what a lot think, he can play a bit too.
One of the best shouts ever that bud. Hats off.
