John Lundstam to shine

I just think that when you consider we had Mikele Leigertwood in the holding role last time around Lundstram has to be better.

Lunstram will be a decent squad player. Don’t think we can afford to sign world class midfielders for the bench.

Cast your minds back to the Ipswich game at home, they had not had a shot at our goal until the last 10 minutes, when Alan Judge sauntered past one of our players who was as fresh as a daisy having been on the pitch for minutes but just let Judge go by him and have Ipswich's only shot on target, yes folks that player was John (i put Grealish on his arse) Lundstram.

If he has any ambition he would ask to go out on loan or a transfer (Tranmere would be good).

There is a good player in there somewhere, he's just unfortunate that there are many more ahead of him in the pecking order.
If we'd signed him in 2015 he'd have probably been our superstar that we sold for £1.5 million because a higher placed club came in for him
christ. do you ever give it a rest? :D

That's funny, you miserable bleeder
I'm looking forward to the next few weeks when we can get Maupay, McBurnie, James and Bowen to create such a stink at their existing clubs that we get them for £2 million each

Or considering we’ve just got 100mil+ maybe we can afford someone a lot better than both. Won’t be hard, 500k should do it.

People on here love him, and think he has amazing technical ability. He's lost some weight and is still the slow heavy footed drip he was before.
To be fair he is technically very good. He’s quite literally 2 footed.

It’s just every other aspect of his game that’s lacking :) and some think he might be good enough for the prem. stunned.

I'd agree with this if we was still in the Championship, he's now ready for that standard IMO but not ready for the Prem....he will definitely get minutes though and have premiership experience on his CV.

We 100% need another centre mid, he can't be the only back up. We dont want to see Basham in there again, even he admits he doesn't enjoy that position as much.

How many of our other players would make the squad at the other PL clubs?

Stevens
Egan
O Connell
Fleck
Norwood

Maybe a couple more.
Lundstram wouldn't get in half the Championship squads let alone any in the top flight.

and i'm the miserable one :D .. ok mate ;)

That’s exactly the problem....he has not got any pace....

Except for the last game of the season, at Stoke, where him and Dowell transformed the game when they came on.

On a few occasions, he tackled the Stoke players on the half way line, won the ball and raced up field, much faster than I have seen him before, and my only criticism is that he tried to put one of our players through when he got to the edge of the box (Billy I think), when he should have charged into the box and had a shot.

He's a player I defended a bit when we had to rely on him, but I mostly defended him on the basis that he wasn't as bad as people said and that he was a cheap gamble for our first season in the Championship. I think there's an okay player in there for a lower Championship side, maybe higher with experience, but I'm not even sure of that.

I know our midfield has been outstanding but he's not even managed to get many sub appearances this season. He's not a Prem player.

Another annoying cliche. Of course there is a 'player in there' otherwise he wouldn't be playing professionally.

However, all the evidence suggests it is not a Premier League player 'in there'.

I think a massive part of CW&AK decision will be the fact Lunny is happy to be a squad player (might not even make the bench) but to be available if we ever become injury struck is good. The pace of the prem will suit him better, his main weakness for me is his time he takes to move the ball and apart from City and Liverpool he will get more time on the ball.

That being said I expect to see him out on loan when we sign a new CM

Bit harsh, shouldn't we see if he can play first......................

He'll do a job next season, said it a few times already. Still fairly young as well and has the staff's backing. Time to kick on now Lunny lad.

Wasn’t good enough for us when he joined, wasn’t good enough for us last season and certainly won’t be good enough for us next season. He is a top end L1, bottom end championship level footballer.

Another player whose minutes spent on the pitch next season will be in negative correlation with our chances of staying up.

His presence in the squad come August will be the canary in the mine for our season’s hopes.
