£9m...??? That’s just hilarious.
It’s a mockery of a travesty of a sham.

Good point. think we have the potential under this management to emulate Leicester, maybe not as far as winning the title but to become consistent performers at or around the highest level. It is likely that we will have clubs trying to buy our better players. We don’t really want to lose any. It’s not just the money it’s finding a replacement of the same quality. CW has been great at finding players to upgrade the squad but getting another Egan wouldn’t be easy And there’s no saying that CW has anyone lined up or could pluck one out of L1 or the Championship or abroad.
there is a model however. Leicester seem to keep having players poached e.g. Maguire but not only do they get max money but then they replace him with a player at least as good if not better (according to my mate who is a Leicester fan). The current Leicester team seems to be even better than the one that one the title. They have constantly up graded their squad in many cases selling at high prices and replacing with a cheaper but better player. May be we can do The same.
Very true.
I think that also goes for quite a few of our players, they work well in our system but outside that are largely an unknown quantity, (and lets face it probably Championship level in a lot of cases).....big gamble for someone to splash £10m/£15m/£20m on.
Totaly agree all three of the back 3 and the wing backs could be upgraded for serious money ( and will be over time ) ,so if any bids come in worth considering and the players want to leave thennlet them goBeen saying this all season. As legendary as Bash, Egan and JOC have been - take them out of this system and they're no where near as effective!
After whats happened to Maguire this season, I'd be surprised if a 'big' club is prepared to get their pants pulled down again...

Egan is a “name” these daysOld news re-hashed......there was interest 2 or 3 months ago but can't see Ancelloti wanting to sign Egan, he would prefer to splash it on a "name"...
£20m would be a realistic offer from Everton imo
We all know Egan is worth what someone will pay and there’s no way Everton will spend that on Egan again imo
Between Murphy leaving and the Wilder era we didn't have any saleable assets. Nobody was going to bid big money for Scougall or Baxter or any of the other wasters we pissed wages up the wall on in the Clough/Adkins eras. When was the last team we sold a proper first team player because we didn't really have a choice? Seems like a long time since we were behaving like a selling club.
Brooks is an obvious shout, though he wasn't exactly starting every game and the money felt big. After that ? I remember being gutted when Brighton had our pants down for Murphy, but that is fucking ages ago now.
Am I just having a mental block?
Anyway, in all probability we've already got a second season of PL dosh locked up, so I doubt we'll be flogging anyone key anytime soon.
20mil HAHAHAHAThe price would be £20 mill tops...plus add ons ...if they offer him silly wages he will go ..simple as ....prefer to do it in summer though ..as time to get a replacement...

Let's not sell him.
Just a point..... but if £20m and £30m are joke prices for Egan then we can absolutely forget having any chance of signing Holgate.

He's worth more than £20m for us in Jan. There's no price that suits both parties. Unless he asks to go its not happeningJust a point..... but if £20m and £30m are joke prices for Egan then we can absolutely forget having any chance of signing Holgate.
