Hasn't he always been crap in League football?
Little known fact, he made his Football league debut at the Lane, as a sub for Bristol City, after signing from Ebbsfleet.

Struggled at Bristol, but has bulked up, and improved under Martin Allen at Barnet.

Also, a lot came from chasing balls down where he wasn't favourite and making a nuisance of himself with his pace and power. Something Che needs to learn and add to his game.

Wilder will be well aware of him so will already have an opinion of him. Good thing is even we can afford a Barnet player if he rates him !

Bear in mind there are some piss poor defences in L2. Even DCL did well at that level.

This thread has put me right off painting the front door black!

I have this horrible feeling that once teams know he's willing to leave they'll just out bid us.
Luckily wilder will know a lot about this lad so if he's worth it he'll pay the money and like with the others- if he's not, he won't

Wow, I'm staring to talk like it's Wilders money he's being so careful with it.

Corrected that for you ;)

Don't understand all this bigging up Charlton and one or two others,Charlton can't sign them all can they ! how many players can they take on there budget.According to Mr Wilder we have a competitive budget which means we can compete with the so called money bag teams in this division?.
I doubt that any team in this division can out bid us if we really want a player..
The over riding factor is whether these players would come for the right reasons,we have to trust the manager on that one.He says he wants committed players with bottle ,how about giving him the time and space to get the right kind of players in ,be it Bos man's or transfer fees

Of course we could compete with any club in this division in terms of transfer fees and wages if we really wanted to. The point is that we've taken a conscious decision to rein in our spending in order to be more sensible with the funds we have, so we don't repeat past mistakes of paying ridiculous wages to undeserving players. In the long term this will pay dividends, however frustrating it may be in the short term when the likes of Charlton sign our supposed targets. Let them be the ones to make the same mistakes we have in the past.

Agree 100% enigmagic

Some good points above. Charlton or whoever cannot sign everyone and you have to take your pick in the positions you need and build a side.

Say we do sign Akinde for example.

It means Charlton have gone for a forward line of Holmes, Novak and Ajose

We would have have gone for a forward line of Duffy, Akinde and Sharp. Setting Adams aside for a moment.

Duffy has played consistently more at a higher level than Holmes, who has only hit form on the past year or so.

Novak has consistently player higher up than Akinde, though the latter has pace and is physically bigger.

Ajose scored more than Sharp but contributed to less goals. Ajose had a purple patch last year whereas Sharp has been a career goalscorer.

Both sets of three are decent for this level but it's all about the dynamic.

I get more comfort that Sharp and Duffy will have good seasons than I do that Ajose will be as good next year and Holmes will carry on, given the greater consistency over the past 5 years of all of them.

I'd also venture that a player with strength and pace would supplement our forward line better than someone like Novak.

We also have Adams, Done, McNulty and Calvert-Lewin. I doubt Charkton boast the same depth.

If we get him, I'm comfortable with our options vs Charlton.

Another question is what system Wilder will deploy. If it is 4-2-3-1 then you may have room for Sharp, Akinde, Duffy and Adams arguably.

From the you tube clip.
He can finish.
Good penalty taker
Looks to drive into the box (we haven't had a player like that for years)

Possible worrying points.
There was some shocking defending.
Alot of his goals came from pens (see above)
His goal celebrations are pants.(I like beating the chest kissing the badge celebrations)
I would certainly sooner take a risk on him than sign Clarke.

The poster has only just joined BM and started making ITK posts. Similar to EloOr8 on here who joined and the same day claimed Aaron Hughes was coming on trial and then the day after another topic claiming we'd signed Chris Taylor.

Rumour has it the initial Clarke bid was made by Adkins and withdrawn by wilder. I have nothing at all to back up this claim

Well...you do have/have started a rumour, so all's good there... ;)
