Personally, I don’t care how good he is. I don’t want him at my club. I’d rather be the “lucky Pierre” in a 3 way with Ron Jeremy and Anne Widdicombe. I felt the same way about us signing Marlong King (who turned out to be shit anyway). No matter how much they improve the team, I just don’t feel comfortable cheering on individuals who disgust me so much.

My stance on Evans was softer because it was a single offence and I do believe that people should get a second chance after serving their time. But when people have had umpteen chances and continue to show themselves up to just be vile human beings, my ability to forgive runs out. I also especially loathe bullies which is what I see both Barton and King as.

When King scored against Crawley, it was a strange and uncomfortable experience for me. I was pleased my team had equalised but celebrating a goal scored by that bellend didn’t sit right with me at all. I don’t want to be back in that position.

I suppose another reason for my differing stance for Ched is that I felt he had served an appropriate punishment for his crime whereas I think our laws are far too lenient on repeat violent offenders meaning I feel that King and Barton have “got away with” more than they ought to have.

Alf, I’m not sure from your post. Are you advocating signing someone like Barton? That would surprise me given your stance on Evans.

Wow. Just wow.

He's made real efforts to turn his life around. I wouldn't have had a problem with him joining. Good choice to sign for Burnley though. Dyche is a top manager.

So when we've finished discussing Barton shall we move on to whether we should have spent £9m on Andre Gray?

Barton is a thug who will never grow up , but earns big dosh . King is a bully and a low life who hits women and deserves not to play football , and earned big dosh . Evans is just a idiot who hasnt the brains he was born with , 3rd rate celebrity , who has destroyed his career , in a moment of madness. All have destroyed , affected other peoples lives.

In this age of PC , zero tolarance of sexual behaviour , we can do without anyone of the above.

Football has no morales or standards when it comes to real life , and money talks.

Lets not us have any part of this mad circus . Honest players , honest club . honest manager and board , and good honest fans , who work hard to watch football , without us becoming tainted with it.

Low life gutter shit , we can do without.

Not really interested in rehashing the Evans fiasco, mate. And United signing Barton (as Bush suggests above) was always theoretical, to say the least.

But, in a world in which we could compete for players of his calibre & mettle, I would definitely be interested in us signing him. And I think the circumstances of Barton's past indiscretions (& their possible effect on the club) are incomparable to the extreme damage that would have been caused to the club if Evans had have been brought back.

Anyway, he's at Burnley now. Reckon he'll be very good for them, personally.

Fair enough Alf,

I just wondered if I had understood your previous post correctly which it seems I had. And I agree with you, no point re-hashing the whole Evans saga (and all the Argos related issues that can stem from that!). And I also agree there are big differences between the two.

We've had bell ends play for us before, and some of them were shit.

We'll have bell ends play for us again, why not at least make sure their half decent bell ends.

Joey Barton, not that he'd drop to this level, would be a great signing.
Biggest influence bell end? Vinnie!!
