And no, nothing Joey Barton has done to date would make me think his presence at the Lane would be a useful thing, unless it's as part of his community service, preferably in a chain gang scraping pigeon cack off the roof.
 
Do we need another loose cannon in the dressing room? :thumbdown: Heard enough rumours about the effect Hendrie had when he first arrived - don't need another one!
 
I would rather push brass tacks in my eyes than have that excuse for a "professional" footballer anywhere near my beloved teams dressing room.
 
I'd be happy to see him at the Lane. Always looked good before all the trouble started. Just needs some good man management and you can probably get the best out of him.
 
I agree Mousey. But could that be done now? Who knows......It'd be a big gamble.
 
He is trouble with a capital T, we dont need him he is a thug and a disgrace to the human race. Strong feelings I know and I am sure his mum loves him but I have no time for the pillock.

From what has been said Curtis Woodhouse was no better than Joey Barton, but we all liked him and still do mostly. I just think if he's your own player then you are more willing to accept what he has done. If he joined United fans would change their minds about him. Well, 99% anyway :)
 
Would love to have Barton at the lane.

Quality player - may be the midfielder we have been lacking for years!

would be a good addition to the squad, but like every one says do we really need all the baggage that comes with him? + his 40k a week wages would be a bit much i think!!

Fantastic talent.

Yes he has had his bust ups, but look at Halford, he came with a right reputation as a party boy etc, but he seems to have cooled things.

We all said we should have signed Koumas, and he had a bad reputation too.
 
Why we would even contemplate him is beyond me. he'd just dirupt team spirit.

Its 100% yes from me. Exactly what we need. We don't have a leader on the pitch and Barton is a decent player, a twat, but still good enough for the Championship IMO.

We need someone to give us a bit of a spark. He would spend a lot of time suspended but why not a pay as you play deal?
