With f1 & football wondering what is it this week with breaking news that is common knowledge weeks ago. He looks a good prospect hopefully that stops done at LB But as i know to judge him on the pitch as we had players with good reputation that have been shocking & those with bad or no reputation surprising us

But i was looking underneath man utd post to see what they might know but with all fans from London or with some not even england instead all i could think was

So, by my reckoning, that'll mean just one more signing this window? (The fabled wide/forward player.)

Bit of movement outwards too - Hussey, maybe Long - but nothing controversial I'd have thought.

All in all, shaping up to be a boringly efficient transfer window.

bit of a midget but hopefully he'll be good. In Wilder we trust

Anyone seen him down at the training ground yet?
And what's he wearing?
Has he called us a "massive" club yet?
Yep he's mentioned it at least 3 times - Massive club and great fans. Hope he isnt as good as Hammond with doing all that "unseen" work Madkins told us about!

Versatile full back who is right footed but with a strong weak foot and predominantly plays left back . Can also play on wing.
Cheers. Looks like we'll be reverting to 4 at the back then (not convinced if so) unless either of Lafferty or Freeman are down for losing their place, which seems unlikely given how he speaks about the both of them. That said it seems a strange position to recruit in but I trust Wilder knows what he's doing so it'll be reyt.

Saw his showreel, didn't rate him but as CW obviously does, I couldn't give a flying fuck what I think about him, it's irrelevant.

Looks exciting. Not sure where we'll play him, but if he's effective on both wings then I'm sure he'll be very useful.

Yep it's a bit puzzling. If we hadn't just signed Lafferty, I'd have said that we'd signed him to give us the same attacking threat down the left as we have with Freeman on the right.

One thing's for sure though, Wilder will know exactly why he's keen on him even if I don't.

I wouldn't think so. He will likely cover both wing-back positions, and arguably may be able to offer an attacking upgrade on Lafferty in the event we need to change things. Done's selection on Saturday seemed less a sign of Wilder's faith in his ability to play there more, and more a sign of his lack of faith in Hussey to deputise.

This caps off a very good start to the transfer window, and he would've already been here for 2 weeks had he not been injured.

In Riley and Carruthers we've signed two high calibre players who between them cover most positions on the pitch. And we've not even had to spend a lot to get them in. So we're covering as many positions as possible whilst spending as little as possible for the quality we're getting.

It represents optimal use of the budget, minimising disruption to the existing squad whilst leaving more space to make further signings. Usually you'd have to sign at least three players to cover the positions these two do, but Wilder's found a way to avoid that, and that's beneficial both financially and footballistically - we've got more left to spend and haven't taken up much space in the squad.

This is logical, intelligent management from Wilder. It's obvious that he and his staff are organised, thorough and plan properly.

It's an excellent move from Riley's point of view. It's a perfect place to prepare for playing for Man Utd - big crowd, top of the league, pressure etc.

From what I've seen of him his best position will be LWB. He naturally seems to dribble the ball inside but is probably better carrying the ball from deep driving into space than he is receiving the ball with a full back to beat in the final third. He looks comfortable on either side though, so he really could play anywhere. I'd expect him to be an option on the wing late on in games.
