not since he was like 24. its the last 3 seasons he has become deadly, some players mature later, vardy anyone???
Vardy didn't get any opportunities after the pigs kicked him out, he had to work his way back. And Vardy had lightning pace.

have to agree to disagree but i just dont believe you can bag that many goals and not have something about you, but its all abaht opinions

He wouldn't get a sniff.

Clubs have taken chances on Bogle, Watkins, Vardy etc. because they've shown the attributes to succeed at a higher level. He's probably more of a Marc Richards - always full of goals in League Two but not prolific further up the ladder.

Little point for me....if a rival team that was hardly fantastic last season, deems this kid not good enough for them, why the hell would we be interested.
I believe we will be competing on a level with them on the field, if he can't get in a side that won't be any better than ours then it's a no for me.
Did we not sign Richard Stearman?

Akinde's failure for Bristol City won't have helped

Have you not seen there recent signings, you must be mad if we are on a level playing field with wolves.

Let's wait and see eh!

It's about more than money. For example I believe Fleck to be as good as any player in the division, he cost zero. If he has the season I reckon he will, he may well be worth £10m this time next year when clubs start bidding.
Just because some one pays a lot of money for someone means nothing. No guarantees of success.

I agree with that. We know we aren't on a level playing field financially, but are we good enough to compete? I think we are. Huddersfield weren't on a level playing field with others last season, but look what happened!

Anything's possible!

Was he not on loan at Wolves? I thought we bought him from Fulham? To be fair I have no idea how many games he played for them last season.

Perhaps Wolves new boss didn't fancy him.
Played under 20 for Wolves, they had an agreed fee I think and Fulham didn't want him.
So we are in the market for other clubs unwanted players, clearly.

i fail to see how 1 of 5 brought in signifies thats our transfer policy, just because other clubs move in a different direction and players become surplus to requirements, it don't mean they are crap does it?? just that particular manager doesn't fancy them, ive no problem at all taking players unwanted at other clubs, if they are a good fit for us

He wasn't wanted by Fulham last season? Or The player wanted to leave? I don't know which that is.
Wolves have had 2 manager changes since he arrived at Wolves, so clearly their new manager didn't want him and wanted his own players.
We stepped in and got him instead.

To be fair, he was making a point to me. I said we needn't look at this kid cos if he's not going to be involved for Wolves, why should we look to him....or words to that effect.

Read the passage in context before jumping on it. I'm not saying Stearman is crap.

Still, he wasn't considered good enough for Wolves or Fulham for that matter. Much like Mason, I think he's a realistic punt.

no but we just won promotion, and we haven't even kicked a ball yet this season, so for the moment ill keep enjoying it, give it a try, you might even like it

My realism you mean? Yawn. The world isn't all fairies and rainbows.

It's not realism.
It's your opinion.

Not sure what point you are trying to make generally, but I think all but very few on here are quite happy with the way Wilder and the club have gone about their business, while also being cautiously optimistic we will do quite well considering the total outlay of the club on players.

Huddersfield was not a fairytale. That was real.
Leicester....not a fairytale.

It's not unrealistic to think the blades will do quite well considering the players they came up with, the way they play and the feel good factor around the club. In fact, it's probably more realistic than stating they will struggle.

Kazim-Richards was playing for Brighton reserves before Warnock brought him t' Lane....good bit of business....nowt wrong with signing 'unwanted players'.

I'm literally supporting the fact that we should be looking at 'unwanted' players from other clubs...

No, he was playing for the first team, albeit often as a sub and Brighton sold him because he put a transfer request in.

Made available for loan from Wolves.

Interest from Bristol City, Fulham and QPR thus far. Could be the quick partner for Billy we're after.
Been told this lad is going to Burton along with Brayford, permanent deal with Beard not sure if it's a loan for Mason reckon it is .
