Of course, but you don't want them to be fighting internally because that is just detrimental.

A lot of the best teams have had bust ups because they are winners and they care, so don't worry there will be none of that in our dressing room.

Jim Phipps is the co-chairman of Sheffield United.

If he wants to put a post on his thoughts after we have lost to bottom of the league Yeovil then he is entitled to do so.

We need to stop pussy footing around these pampered players.
Either sort out your game or leave this club.
I'm sick of my club being used by players who just want to collect a nice wage and massage their fragile ego by playing for a big club.

I want winners and players who will lay it on the line and get the job done.

Cant step up?
Then leave.

So either -

b) you want us to go up via the playoffs and then sack him anyway

That for me :)

But I fear we will get neither :(

He's proved over and over again he fails to get the best out of the many players at his disposal,

via so many failings.

He HAS to go irrespective.
And a competent boss would see that and know it now and be thinking of the replacements for the two scenarios.

Did he ever know anything? A long (eleven years) and almost entirely unsucessful stint in the fifth and sixth tiers at Burton saw him 'selected' by Derby.

Er.

You don't know many Burton Albion fans do you?

Took a club that had never been higher than the middle reaches of the 6th tier to 2 second place finishes and then promotion to the Conference (something Warnock didn't manage in 5 years). In his 10 seasons he achieved Burton's highest EVER league finish 9 times and all but had them promoted to the football league until he left.

They also had the best cup runs of their history, highlight being taking Man Utd to a replay.

By all means slag Clough off for not being able to put together a team to avoid defeat to the likes of Crewe, Yeovil, Gillingham and Fleetwood and achieve wins at home to the likes of Orient, Notts County, Walsall, Oldham and a poor Barnsley, but don't use ignorant and incorrect sound bites to suit an agenda.

Indeed lets not forget the fact that Clough did win the massive Northern Premier League Premier Division in 2001–02.
No mean achievement since the runner-ups were the massive Vauxhall Motors.Of course this is something is Warnock never achieved.
Warnnock the man who has only 7 promotions to his CV!
All of which a tad higher than the Northern Premier League Premier

The irony, of using ''sound bites to suit an agenda''

Burton Albion ALL Time records
ALL achieved post NN.

Best League Position 4th. 4th tier 2012-13
and near certain promotion to 3rd tier this season.
Best FA Cup performance: 4th Round 2010–11
Best Football League Cup performance: 3rd Round 2012–13 and 2014–15
Best Football League Trophy performance: 2nd Round 2010–11 and 2014–15

They don't seem to have done too bad with 2 promotions coming in 6 just years after the 1 in 11 years with Clough.

Oh dear.

My point was I totally refute the claim that Clough's reign at Burton was "almost entirely unsuccessful" when the opposite is nearer the truth.

The Warnock quote is factually correct. Not sure what his subsequent success does other than emphasise my point which is why I mentioned it.

Also do not see the point of your Brewers records? Yes their continued rise has been brilliant, but that does not detract from what Clough achieved there.

Also Burton have only achieved one promotion post Clough as of now, and any Albion fan will tell you that promotion was almost entirely down to Clough.

Do you seriously believe that Clough was almost entirly unsuccessful at Burton?

Probably much longer than you having seen them fail in all semi finals and play offs since 1961 but you don't stop believing - feel much more positive this year !
been through it all like you fiery and like you i am positive about the play offs.We can raise our game to levels the other play off candidates cant we have done it this season in big games and they dont come any bigger than the play offs.WE CAN DO IT BUT IT HELPS A LOT IF ALL BLADES GET ONSIDE AND SUPPORT THE TEAM CANT UNDERSTAND ANY BLADE TAKING THE OPPOSITE VIEW.

A few days have passed and I now see the Yeovil result for the positive it really is. Maybe now I HAVE FINALLY EVOLVED INTO A PROPER FAN. BRADFORD HAVE LOST THEIR LAST 4 MATCHES AND CONCEDED 13 GOALS BUT IF WE CAN MANAGE 2 SHOTS ON TARGET I KNOW WE WILL WIN THE PLAY OFFS.
Stop leaving the ground 5 minutes before the final whistle then!

And we could be playing LadyPigs on Boxing Day, although, on the the balance of probabilities...

To think, we could be below Burton in the League come August

I assume you had a similar wow moment when Fleetwood got into the same league as us.

I moved down to Derby 9 years ago and worked with a staunch Burton fan, started going to the odd Brewers game and really enjoyed it so grew a fondness for them and started going a few times when United weren't playing or I couldn't get.

Back then we were getting into the Premier League and Burton were somewhere between the Northern Prem and the Conference.

At that point never, ever, in a trillion years did I ever think it would have been possible for us to be in the same league. Quite surreal to think about it now.

I've never been so nervous before a game as I was at their place in December, and as for the home defeat..... The only good thing is that they won't be beating us in the play-offs.

Like you say about Burton, it used to be 'ah, bless' as they leapt up the divisions, now it's a nightmare !

I've genuinely grown to love Burton but I really really hated losing to them in the league cup as my next week at work was a bloody nightmare!

Still will always have a soft spot for the Brewers, if we are in the same league, Blades to win it and Brewers second would be ideal (with us doing the double over them!).

Do you ever watch Fleetwood?

I've been a few times, more in the dim and distant past, saw them play Wigan when they were both non-league in the 80s. Haven't been this season (other than our game), a bit too close to home, literally !

Used to watch Blackpool quite a bit if I wasn't going to our game but most of my mates aren't going at the moment, anti-Oyston boycott so we're forced to have a few pints watching Jeff on Sky :)

We could indeed be playing the Tuna fillies - but until that is an impossibility, then we go down to BDTBL tomorrow and we do what we can to make sure it happens.

Clough can start with playing as many square pegs in square holes as we can muster.
We now have 3 "practice" games before our mini World Cup.
Just out of interest - we talk about seminal moments - not sure how many realise how important the next 5 weeks could be to our club.

I shall therefore look forward to Welling United v Sheffield United - League One game in the 2018/2019 season :(

#Speechless on twitter

I don't want to hear that he's speechless either ........ I want to hear that he's marched into the dressing room having kicked down the door, escorted by a couple of "gorillas", faced up the players and said something like;

"if you bunch of over-paid, lilly-livered, gutless fairies EVER turn out a display like that again, whilst playing for this magnificent Club, you will be spending a week training in the desert and being flayed alive by the Prince's bodyguards, followed by being buried up to your thighs over an ant hill !!! Now get out there in the remaining matches and do not dare to let down the long-suffering supporters who have turned out in numbers that you do not even nearly deserve and make amends for your inadequate performances so far this season by securing promotion from this crappy Division, or you are toast in the close season."

That ..... would have been appropriate!!
