I know he wants the communication with fans but his facebook is a version of lee strappon...I feel for the fella as he gets numptys having a go when we lose.

Personally I don't think he needs to say anything. He runs the business, he doesn't play or manage the side.

No, but he does manage the man who does. I agree he need to keep things in check mind.

Phipps needs to hold his council and have a frank discussion with Clough first , and the outcome cascading down to the players . Speechless and Spineless is being diplomatic , to what has been witnessed tonight . Is it a squad game , not from tonights performance its not . I have not heard the Clough post match interview , but his credibility stands or falls ( on the witnessed performance tonight IMO ) , in what he says . The bigger question is what Clough or the board do about it .

I don't disagree with that and he seems to be doing a decent job of managing clough.

I kind of agree. He can be on there, not a major issue with that. He needs to reign some of it in as it'll just bite him in the arse and whilst he's doing and trying to do a good job, people will use his words against him.

But I don't get why people feel the urge to rant at him for onfield issues. One bloke commenting clough must go now... Did that bloke think Phipps would just act on his wishes.

Tonights defeat has not altered anything
United will qualify for the play offs
Dependent upon the outcome will probably define Mr Cloughs future
Until then will all the cretins that come on here ranting and raving please go away and leave us to get on with getting promotion !

Don't be so sure we'll qualify for the play offs, by no means secure yet. We need at least 2-3 points, can see rochdale getting 9/10 more points with their games.

Problem we find ourselves in now is that we have to win against Bradford - yet we've seen it before when the pressure is on in a big home game - it wouldn't be a surprise if Bradford turn us over. Then away at orient we'll get a point, meaning it could come down to the final game where we need at least a draw...could see us playing for a point against Chezzie and losing. Missing out on the play offs.

The Bradford game is massive this weekend.

Rochdale lost tonight and so did Bradford 0-6 !

So either -

a) you want us to sack him right now, 3 games before a likely play-off semi-final (we've tried similar before, that ended badly to remind you)
b) you want us to go up via the playoffs and then sack him anyway
c) you don't want us to go up, so Clough gets sacked

Which of these is it then?
 
We should have got rid of him 2 months ago.

I do hope we go up through the play offs but with this squad negative has assembled it is probably 99% unlikely.

If we do go up I would get rid of him then. He just doesnt fill me with any faith what so ever that he could build a side capable of competing week in week out.

The football we are playing is not good to watch, the build up play is so slow and predictable it is so easy to defend against, especially when you don't have height, strength or pace in the side. The team lacked these when he got the job and he as not signed people to improve these area.

I'll be there Saturday, and at Orient and Chessie and the play off games and I'll be supporting the blades but it doesn't mean I have to back or like the manager

Why bother going to the games with such an ultra negative view! Mr Clough has forgotten more about football than you would ever have known in an entire lifetime - just stay at home an leave supporting Sheffield United to true Blades !

I know, I've just supported united long enough to wait until the the fat lady sings! I remember walking out of the lane in 2006 having just beaten Spurs and asking my dad who do you reckon we should sign next season, he asked what league you think we'll be in, my response was that there was no way we would go down now, we were in something like 15th place and well ahead of west ham. We all know how that finished up.

I love your positivity fiery, and I agree with much of what your saying in your posts tonight, I'm just not counting my chickens until we're definitely in those play offs.

What difference does it make if the team we play next has lost . None at all . Bradford ( like Yeovil ) will be playing for pride , after such a heavy defeat , and sometimes physiologically its like a goal start.

All games are important , whether its the first or last of the season . Its how we handle and adapt ourselves that count , and didn't do a good job of it last night at Yeovil unfortunately.

Clough wasn't playing last night , but i am sure if he was the scoreline would have been different . I blame the players last night not Clough . Too many looked disinterested and ready for the summer holidays . In saying that it was all a bit preseason , and we all know the history of that one.

In a way Fiery your reaction last night was more extreme than many of the negative ones. All this "True Blade" and "stay away" nonsense, come on, you should take defeats much better than this, lashing out at fellow fans most of whom eat, drink and sleep SUFC.

"Speechless" speaks volumes - about the writer, his enthusiasm, his professionalism and judgement, the "wisdom" of him being on Social Media and the shock of last night's result which is hard to take at any level of the club.
