Blade, not Bladey.
Karl Robinson would be ok.
but this theory that sacking a manager brings instant result might actually happen
...and land old Upanatem 'Morgs' the job?
I think we can stand one more defeat.

One by one people on this forum forego a defeat in order to uphold their footballing principles

Fair enough Pinchy but how long do we continue with the footballing principles and sacking manager after manager. I believe time is the biggest issue. We either give the managers the time to let their team develop or it'll never work. Sacking a manager after 10 games of a new season (which followed a dreadful end to the last) isn't giving time.
Do we now bring another manager in to play just 10 games and if he doesn't do well sack him as well?
I think this season is already gone in many ways. Weir was probably working hard to get things working and for whatever reason it didnt work out. Is that because he was a bad manager, coach, motivator or was it that he couldn't work miracles in two months? I'd suggest the latter.
So now I fear for the clubs stability, I fear that we have a bigger risk now because we sacked Weir. Motivation and Morale will be rock bottom and without a man who can stabilise and motivate it doesn't matter whether we play tippy tappy or hoof.
Are you saying we should have kept Weir?
If the club believed that he was a huge part of both the stability and the progress of the club, then yes.
We've now gone through three managers in 6 months, the new guy coming in will be no 4. Considering that 3 of those 6 months have involved no competitive football then it's hardly a model for stability
Again, if the new guy coming in emulates Weirs results record, do we also get rid again?
Yes, until the transformation works.
this club is capable of some of the weirdest shit .. i wouldn't be surprised if something bonkers happenedThe seasons pretty much gone now, barring a miracle.
Some of us were prepared to sit it out with Weir until it came good. Now that we've blown that we need a manager to stabilise us for this season.
But you'll never get any stability in the club and we'll keep sinking.

The football gods are working within our club

This is the problem, we could also end up in a Di Canio situation, short term fix but not the long term solution.
Back to the interview, they wanted to keep him but results forced their hand but the fact remains that it's a still as much a gamble to replace him as it was to keep him.
I don't think this was a gamble as you may think to get rid of him. JP alluded to the problems behind the scenes when he was explaining how we were bringing in players too quickly which was causing great unrest with the players already here. He said if we had 6 more points than we had now then we probably wouldn't have pulled the plug, however performances were getting worse and we were left with no choice.
More stories will come out in the next few months to how bad things got, however you can read into the squad being locked in the dressing room for the last 3/4 games to have a clue.

I thought JP came across very well, especially in the Radio Sheff interview. It seems that we may have finally found some people who are capable of making the right decisions at the right time. As much as I wanted Weir to succeed and never being a 'knocker' as such I saw that after Tuesday night's performance the writing was on the wall.
All I hope is that the Prince and JP will be able to have a major input into this appointment and get the right man for the time. McCabe and co have shown that they have made too many mistakes and need some better guidance. It did seem that JP was saying that mistakes were made in the past by the club and he and the Prince won't let them happen again. Let's hope for the sake of the club and all our sanity that it does go right - it seems that everything that could have gone pear shaped since our last season in the Prem has.
It didn't go wrong in season 2011-12 until Ched got an attack of misdickeritus. Until he got this, which was totally self inflicted (and some argue was passed on to the jury) we were storming. Hey, ho.
I think people re-write history when it comes to the Ched Evans story. If Ched hadn't been arrested he would have been sold to Reading for £1m and the money would not have been re-invested. As he was arrested nobody would take his contract on.
To add to this, because he was arrested he was put under Chris Morgan watch and his lifestyle changed. So even if he had not been arrested he would probably been the shit wanker we had for 2 years previously.
As for the Blades, we would have been in the play offs, but boy we were shite without the 'new ched evan's. Too much gloss has been put on that season which would not have been so 'good' without Ched being arrested.
Our problem was that we didn't beat either of the top 2 home or away and unfortunately this is the only FACT about the whole saga.
Well if we had lost the Battle of Britain then.....
.... and we only won because the Germans 'accidentally' bombed the London docks and Churchill ordered a retaliatory raid on Berlin...
...and if the lookouts on the Titanic had had access to a pair of binoculars.....
how much re-writing of 'factual' history do you want?
Isn't our pretty dramatic fall from grace enough without glossing over the better bits because it doesn't sound as bad as you would have liked it?
Let's stick to what actually happened rather than pure conjecture.
As I said, the only pure fact we have is that we didn't beat the top 2 home or away![]()
So what, if we hadn't had lost to Oldham/MK we would have got promoted. It's what you do over a season that matters not whether you beat the top two or not.
