I have some ticketing issues to raise with Mr Phipps (or someone else at the club
if there is someone more appropriate). Can anyone give me a suitable email
address?

Can you give a broad outline of what the issues are so we'd be able to best point you in the right direction?

If not, the Support Liaison Officer (John Garrett) is your best bet - [email protected] as he'd be able to contact the best person (I'd guess Emma Wylie at Box Office level or the directors at organisational level).

Jim is very vocal on Twitter, but is rarely in the country to action things.

I will private message you the e-mail, and then if you can let me know the best way to raise the issues mentioned, I would be grateful.

Just read your PM RB... I would suggest sending it through to Emma Wylie ([email protected]) whose official title is Supporter Services Manager but deals with managing the Ticket Office and ccing John Garrett in (email above) as SLO.

I appreciate that Jim has a public-facing role on Twitter, but I doubt he'd be able to respond to your query beyond a "we'll look into it".

I got my phone bill recently and whilst I don't mind that much paying for the call duration when purchasing tickets (even though there is a booking fee to cover the envelope and postage added anyway) I strongly object to be charged between 18-22 pence for every time I get a "sorry - all agents are busy" message on the premium rate ticket line I have to use.

Being an exile I cannot get down to the Lane easily and I cannot use the fact that I have 2 Blades Super Draw tickets on the web site - so I have no choice but to call on the phone. I get to as many games as I can but I can never amass the same points as a season ticket holder so I rely on my super draw tickets to get as far as I can in the preference queue.

So to the damage - I have over 100 entries for busy calls on my phone bill to the ticket office number which comes to around £23 plus VAT. Then there's the call to actually purchase the tickets that was £4.87 plus VAT.

Linz any advice on how to protest about this cos paying over £30 for repeatedly dialing in to get tickets is a bit of a piss take
I think it's something Jim Phipps should be aware of - appreciate he will not action it personally but if there is going to be some sort of resolution to this then it has to be at a club policy level and not at the coal face.

In todays computer age this is an appalling situation and why we cannot order on line is totally beyond me.
A premium telephone line should never be used with a booking fee.
Totally agree with all you say having been in this position.UTBI

I've added it (again) to the agenda for the SLO meeting.

Other than that, Emma Wylie (contact details above) would be the person to get in touch with.

Register on line. Much easier and free too.

But the point is that you can't link your superdraw membership to your online profile... meaning you get lumped in with general sale.

Not a problem cus it'll be 20 yrs before were back at Wembley. :(

Ah I see

Having only done it as a season ticket holder I didnt know this

But if it costs that much in 'hold' charges it'd be cheaper to buy a membership and use the online facility.

Also, family stand tickets aren't available online, even if you only want to buy what you've bought several times already.
Pay for the tickets, pay for the booking, pay for the call (several times quite often), pay for the loyalty points, pay to be able to use the loyalty points.

The other thing you can do is get a mobile phone or home phone package which includes 0870/0871 numbers in their 'free minutes' packages.

As mor and more companies are using these numbers it is worth doing IMO - saves me £'s! Also - not sure with United as I always buy online, you can go to the website 'Say no to 0870' which lists alternative landine or free phone numbers for companies that will either rotue or forward you to the same place.

It was mentioned in the last meeting that this should be changed during the overhaul of the system in the summer.

0114 221 3156 - doesn't go straight to ticket office but you can be asked to be put through.

Yes, I think that's the promotions office or something. It's right next door - but last time I called it they were unable to connect me to the ticket office.

I was calling on a mobile from the USA - calling the premium rate number would have potentially cost more than the ticket.

Jim Phipps says relax.

Surely we can have an S2 T-Shirt with this on? Someone care to knock on out, sorry up?

I can never look at the thread title without imagining a monochrome drum beat and baseline, some jarring lead over it and the semi-mumble semi-yelp of Mark E Smith belting it out before launching into a damning rant about passivity and consumerist behaviour of the modern football fan.
