Player Suggestion Jess Lingaard

Motivated fit and on form light years ahead. He’s lost his way the last few seasons but there’s nothing to say he can’t find it again. The issue for me is his wages will currently be astronomical so unless he is literally desperate to play and has no other options then I can’t see it being u
Yes he is
As I said it was a rhetorical question after reading lots of the other entries

we might just offer man utd a loan fee for lingard if we stay up unlikely i know if we stay up he would probably sign permanent if we go down no chance

1 in 6 as a winger or attacking mid, neither of which we use, and he’d have worse players around him (and would probably be chucked on as a forward). I’d love to be proved wrong but I can’t see this making any sense at all.

Seems more of a meme than a footballer atm he defo isn't worth 100k a week lol I'd rather pay the same for rojo tbh

I may be in the minority but I think if Lingard's attitude and fitness are ok, he could be exactly the sort of player Utd need. Able to play RCM or CAM, good engine, creative, and an eye for a goal, despite a lean time recently (just ask the Massive when he was on loan at Brum!). If he was on form and playing to the ability he's previously shown, he's a Champs League player. As it is, regular games at Utd may just be what he needs as well.

I am in the camp of those who think this could work out well for us. He's just lost his way a bit but clearly has some real talent.
Wilder always did like a project and we are seriously lacking real quality in midfield at the moment.
I am sure Deano will have given him a heads up on what to expect too, so he won't come here expecting anything other than hard work and tough love from the management.
Wilder and Oli seem to get on quite well, so let's hope this one has some legs.

it could well work out and its an area we are weak in i.e goalscoring midfielder a lot will depend on how much of his salary man utd are willing to pay doesnt look like hes in olis plans so really they cant lose they either get a player back with confidence or they get a fee for him

He would certainly be an interesting addition and has more chance of proving others wrong than Wilder's previous 'projects' in my opinion.

However, standing on the Kop at BL when the 3rd Man U goal went in and watching them run over to us to celebrate and then seeing Lingard tell us all to "Fuck off" made me see red and it still pisses me off to think about now. I know, they had just gone ahead etc. and he was passionate in the moment but still...

It just made it all the sweeter what happened a few minutes later :)

I know what you mean though. But I remember how I felt about signing Clarke, and then of course Madine. Two players who I had despised previously, and ones who I had always felt enjoyed winding us up. I got over both of those, and they both worked out rather nicely for us in the end.

Resigned to the fact were probably getting him now. Atleast he will be replacing want away Lundstram.

Much more attacking quality than our current midfielders, whether he'd have the attitude to do it every week is questionable.

it might be worth man utd paying a big chunk of his salary to come to us hes not gonna get any game time at old trafford anytime soon and if he signs on loan for us hes almost certainly gonna be involved every game if he scores goals against other top 6 sides for us it benefits man utds bid for a top 4 spot and possibly the title

Never understood why I people get so annoyed when players run and celebrate in front of opposition fans. Yet it still annoys you months later 🤔

It wasn't the celebration; I am fine with celebrations in general. It was the smug grin as he said it that I remember.

I’d live with it mate in the same way that if weasel Vardy became available I’d live with that too.

like the clubs ambition to stay in the premier league with a signing like this think odds are well against us but would be a very good signing imo

Many on here think he would be a good signing and I hope he is.

Personally however, I’m not so sure. He doesn’t remind me of a CW type player

I perhaps mistakenly see him as someone who doesn’t work hard enough and that won’t work in our side
It’s the ‘chris wilder type players’ that are crap right now

would be a gamble thats for sure but hes the type of player we lack so badly weve plenty of hard working players but that alone wont get us out of this mess
