Player Suggestion Jess Lingaard

This isn’t happening for the same reasons rojo isn’t happening the prince said they were going to be loan to buy deals. I’m order to finance such a deal lingard would have to take at minimum a 75% wage cut and tbh why should he. That’s not even talking about whether we’d be interested or not. The likelihood of us signing a player who’s on a first team contract at one of the big 6 is so unlikely it’s laughable.

Why would they loan someone out who’s in the last 6 months of his contract?

he has some of the assets we lack in midfield, that said I don’t actually think he’s a very good footballer

Talented footballer obviously. And based on the majority of Wilders business he fits righj in (big club player, lost his way)

I'm not sure he'd fancy it tbh? Depends how much he wants to build his value up for his eventual move to Everton
Who from Wilder's signings fits that description? His modus operandi is trying to find cheap players from the lower leagues. The only players we've signed from a bigger club are Jagielka (technically a free agent when he joined) and Brewster.

Cheap?

Norwood, Stevens, Fleck, Robinson x 2, Lundstram, Duffy all started at big clubs and dropped down to rebuild.

I feel sure that i laughed at his name being suggested in the summer. Right now, if we paid a quarter of his wages for 5 months, giving him the chance to resurrect his career (and get the aforementioned move to Everton!)... He could actually be a very good signing for us.

Looking at around £2m to cover his wages between Jan and end of May. Can't see us getting anybody better and tbh I don't think he'd come if we don't pick up a couple of wins in the next 2 weeks.

Spot on 78, his wages aren't arent a problem its 2m for 20 weeks, thats f all to a Premier league side. Id be happy at this, its not that long ago he was playing for England and when you look at Man U's midfield its.not surprising he lost his place with the likes of Bruno and Pogba playing the same role !

But if some of our fans think the likes of Lunny and Fleck are better thats their perogative

This isn't Ravel mark 2.

He's played 209 games for Manchester United and scored 33 goals.

He still played 40 matches last year.

He has played 24 times for England and his last one was as recent as 2019.

In the 2018 World Cup he played very well and that year got 4 in 14 at International level.

He's out of favour because of Pogba, Fernandes and Van Der Beek.

You don't play for a decade at Manchester United and get picked for and play at the World Cup if you don't have a supreme level of professionalism about you.

He's got 6 months left on his deal. He's played 2 games this season for the first team. How he does in the next 6 months could really determine his next move. If he can prove the catalyst to a remarkable turnaround for the Blades, then he'll ride the crest of a wave that brings and join a top club. If not, maybe the elite clubs will favour someone with more recent focus.

If we can also offload Lunny for a modest but useful fee, then this deal easily pays for itself. He could play RCM or AM. As he's played on the wing before as well he'd be ideal for our system. Plus a goal scoring record of 1 in 6 at this level is not to be sniffed at.

Definitely gets my vote.

The other one in this situation is Ozil. He's more expensive and leaving London even short term might just be a step too far.

We need someone to score goals. Lingard is not that player. Just my opinion, obviously (informed by the fact that he’s scored 29 goals in 180 matches across his career and we’re hardly banging them in for fun), and I’d love to be proved wrong, but doesn’t seem like the kind of signing we should be making.

The guy who broke into Man Utd first team is not a very good at football?
The attacking midfielder who played 22 times in the premier league for the 3rd best team last season and scored 1 goal

TBF that's essentially a 1 in 6 record. For someone who was more of a homegrown player than a star player... It seems pretty good.

Also done good things for England and plenty of Wembley goals in big games for Man Utd.

He's a confidence player i reckon. I don't think he's realistically going to join us. BUT if he came, and immediately felt confidence swell as the big dog here to save our season... Who's to say he wouldn't suddenly find that his dribbling, forward runs and shooting wouldn't be somewhere near his peak...

Also I don't think he's good enough for Man Utd. But if he's putting the effort in and his confidence/ego is being seen to... He could be more than good enough for us.

That ratio would see him joint top scorer for us last season and he's a midfielder.

Granted he's a midfielder with much better team mates, but I'm not sure what you can expect as output from a Midfield player that we can bring in. Worth nothing that those goals are top flight, not boosted by lower league seasons. Not saying he on his own is our savior but not an easy task finding this season's Glynn Hodges 😉

He isn’t in the last 6 months really as they have a 12 month extension clause and he is an exceptional footballer. Technically I doubt you’ve ever seen anyone wear our shirt who not only has the ability but has shown it regularly at the highest level. Truly two footed, creative, can score and has the engine to play in our system both ways.
Lads clearly lost his way and has openly struggled against mental illness as well as being targeted for some nasty abuse including racial from what appears to be his own fans.
Not sure why he’s labelled as a dickhead any more than many other young lad who enjoy the trappings of a well paid job but I don’t read the celebrity papers.
He’s be an excellent option at RCM LCM or behind a 2 but I wouldn’t break the bank for him, as both Man Utd and the player clearly need him to leave and get some game time.

If he's been brought in to score a shed load, then I agree. Or is he been brought to energise midfield and feed the strikers? If so, maybe.

He's good at scoring goals from free kicks just outside the box and we haven't got a player at the moment that could do that. Would be a good addition until end of season if it does happen.

Some fans really think Jesse (multiple England caps) Lingard isn't good enough for us don't they?!

He'd be a fantastic signing IMO, great ball carrier and would give us a bit more cutting edge and composure in the final third too.

If you don't think we could do with a bit of this in our flair stricken side then I dispair :D

Is he better than what we have is the main question
Motivated fit and on form light years ahead. He’s lost his way the last few seasons but there’s nothing to say he can’t find it again. The issue for me is his wages will currently be astronomical so unless he is literally desperate to play and has no other options then I can’t see it being us.
