Jebbo

Booing is perfectly allowable in the right circumstances.

Booing the referee, booing the management and booing entitled pricks who didn't put a shift in when they were paid by us, and showed no loyalty whatsoever is perfectly acceptable.

Not sure about the woke crap, but booing Jebbison today is freedom of choice.

FWIW, the boos were widespread and very loud. He'll be under no illusion what S2 thinks of him.
You mention the phrase “entitled pricks”.

Interesting choice of words that you have used there 😉.

At least I waited a couple of years before I weighed in on Brewster!

Would like to get DronnieBlade view on Rhian given we know his view on strikers who he perceives to be poor value for money?!
Brewster. A colossal waste of money. What other conclusion could possibly be drawn.

One of the many that has cost the club far too much and will go down as one of the many in the “spunking years” when Wilder lost his mind.

I’m however still in the minority that if he can remain injury free, build his confidence strength and stamina up, someone, someday will see a reasonable footballer turn out for their team. It probably won’t be you or I sadly !!

I think Wilder is doing one of his little cunning things of being economical with the truth with Jebbo.

As a few others have alluded too, you only had to look at all the players and staff, they had nothing to do with Jebbo, even at the end, the bit where you’re all supposed to shake hands, they just fucked him off.

Clearly something has gone off and Wilder is the reason he wanted us to give him an hostile reception, he got it and it helped us along the way, correct decision and good management of the situation.

I’ll tell you what though, if Cleverley could rewind time I reckon he wouldn’t have brought him on to the pitch, it took everything out of their little sails, the little they had left anyway as we controlled it for most parts.

That's fair enough, I buy that version of events.

I hadn't heard the hostile comment beforehand from Wilder so to me it just looked like Jebbo was getting pelters for seemingly no reason. I also didn't see the interactions of lack thereof between the player and our lot (probably because I had to dash to the loo at FT).

I'm still not quite sure he deserved it to that extent, but it's done now and in hindsight it likely helped us get the game over the line by whipping up the crowd.

Yeh we noticed that at the end to .. there were definitely no pats on the back for ex player there & no love lost whatsoever

Jebbo was having a laugh and joke with Brewster and at least one other when warming up down the touch line so 🤷‍♂️

I haven't picked up on the nuance.

I didn't mean you by the way.

How else would you describe a young lad who tells the manager of a top end Championship club that he's signing a contract and then messes everyone around. Don't say you're signing if you're not.

It's apparent from the body language of the players and staff, that they'd have booed him too if they could have.

I could not disagree with you more.

If you were an ex player visiting your old club, and were roundly booed on to the pitch, would you likely :-

a. Shrink like a todger in an ice bath.
b. Use it as fuel to your already well lit fire.

???

Big clue. For 99% of pros, it’s b. Without question.

Jebbo in the 1% club then. What a bellend…

He was clapped off and from where I sat could see wilder ask one of staff why people were clapping him. He wasn't at fault last season and I don't think people have a grudge against him
I really don’t think that he deserved to be applauded off the pitch…hardly a blades legend!

Is all this “nobody wanted to know him” stuff just made up? I’m sure Anel, who he was good friends with, hasn’t fell out with him just because he’s left United.

Depends how he left…

I didn’t boo him, just sang the songs and was 100% behind giving him stick

Soutter wasted no time in getting into him when he came on.

I did not Boo the lad but must admit i felt a certain amount of disdain for him & thought what a twohat but still wish him well

Not sure about the players, Brewster spoke with him whilst warming up.

It was noticeable at the end that not a single member of our staff around the tunnel made any attempt to acknowledge him or shake his hand.

That included Dave McCarthy, Gary Sinclair, players and backroom staff.

I've seen those people almost always shake hands with former players previously as they come off.

Bearing in mind this is a lad who has been here years, not just a brief loan stint.

I think he’s (Jebbo) one of those players that I just think go and prove me wrong.

I honestly feel that we got far more money for him on compo that I’d expected.

He’s still so raw, has the physiological attributes to be an all round striker but just never seen him put a performance in other than perhaps one game where I thought he looked like a player.

He doesn’t seem to have the brain and the awareness of a striker though. Ask him to chase down and press and he can do it, hoping for scraps. Asking him to play on the shoulder of the last man and make intelligent runs for the pass… I’ve rarely seen

As I said, needs to prove many of us wrong

Yea his 6 goals made all the difference.😂

I’m done discussing McBurnie. He is yesterday’s chip paper. And for around £30m that his 5 year stint has cost the club, thank fuck for that 😃.

Read it again. I think he scored far more than 6 in our promotion season back to the prem. Amazing your trained eye didn’t spot that

I did try to constructively criticise Jebbo when he came on but unfortunately, a rendition of ‘Shoreham Boys’ interrupted my treatise on Maslow’ s Hierarchy of Needs. I’m also not sure he could see the Power Point presentation I was him giving on Nietzsche‘s philosophy of self-actualisation.

I therefore decided to boo, but in a warm baritone and spiked inflection to convey my disappointment, whilst simultaneously reassuring him that empathetic redemption is possible.

I don't really get the booing, he wasn't a player I was that bothered whether he stayed or not. He certainly hadn't pulled up any trees for us, scored 2 league goals and remember one game where I thought he was good, which was the last home game against Preston in May 2023.

He might go on to be a decent player, good luck to him.

Shrug of the shoulders from me. Indifferent to the lad. I've given more thought about a fish supper on a Friday night.

Miserable bugger, I don't wish him any ill but I also don't really wish him well.

Just a sulky teenager
