Yes. Maybe the difference is that Whiteman played for our first team? No-one mentions the others we brought in from Man U who didn't make it (including Callum Gribbin).
I also think Whiteman staying local with Donny kept him in people's thoughts

Channelling my inner Ball_Sup (Phil) CJ Hamilton went to Mansfield which negates that somewhat.
I'm not sure anyone in Sheffield, other than Nige being in charge knows a lot about how Mansfield are going on do they? I know geographically it's close but I wouldn't count them as local in the way we do Donny

All very 'League of Gentleman' this post!

Three ex first teamers in their current squad.

If you can't figure out what my point is then I'm going to assume that any way I explain that 22 is 2 more years than 20 is beyond you.
So your point is that in the last 2 years Archer has gone from non league to Premier league and Jebbison has gone from league 1 to nowhere so Jebbison is great?

Are you doing this on purpose?

Jebbison at 18, player of the month in L1. Archer. U23's
Jebbson at 20, playing in the Championship. Archer, National league
Jebbison at 22? Archer, playing in the PL and an established Championship player.

Jebbison scored for Burton and hasn't played more than the odd game in the 2 years since. He achieved more than Sharp at a younger age

Jebbison was 18-19 at Burton and scored 7 league goals in L1

Sharp at 18-19 scored 9 league goals at Rushden in L2
Sharp then went on to score 53 goals in L1 by the time he was 21.

It's all guess work, but I doubt Jebbison would score 30 in a season in L1

He might not do. But to assume he's not very good after that start to his career and the stall in his development is a leap that makes no sense to me.

Billy stayed fit, that's the big difference in being able to see what he could be

He made an absolute mug out of Cresswell in the Millwall cup match. Yes he’s not a consistent performer yet but he’s had a very stop start couple of years and not many strikers are putting in consistently top end performances at his age.

Considering Norwood couldn't get in the team by the end of our last season in the Championship, I'm struggling to make a case for him being fit for purpose two years later....

As for Egan, i guess a lot depends on whether we retain Anel, Trusty, Robinson, RND and whether we're playing with 2 or 3 CBs. Either way, I'm struggling there too if I'm being honest!
He did very well for the majority of the season in a top 2 team, then got replaced by Doyle.

If we don't get a loanee of that calibre in again, how much will a replacement cost that is proven to play at Norwood's standard? Are we preparing to gamble on youngsters and building a new squad, or will we go all out for promotion? Most teams do the latter, not sure if we have the finances to really commit to a big promotion push but who knows.

It's a real shame regarding what is (supposedly) happening with Jebbo injury wise and his complete absence this season - we absolutely needed him in those first few games. Forest away at 1-1 when tired legs sets in springs to mind. We brought young Hackford on, it's small margins in the Prem and Jebbison would have been an ideal addition to that game in the 2nd half.

As for his potential - his half an hour cameo in the last home game of last season against PNE showed just how good the lad could be on his day. Came on and dominated their backline, bullied them almost. Also set Flecks goal up with a tremendous counter attack.

As much as he's still potentially a good player, we can't have him telling us what he wants to sign, with his limited time and injuries we should offer him a deal now and if he doesn't take it ship him out for the top price someone is prepared to pay

We won’t know for some time if we’ve missed out on a real talent. He has shown flashes of promise but is not the finished article by any means. Will he be another Jordan Slew or a peak DCL? We’ll see

I’ll look forward to betting on him scoring in some nondescript midweek league one game in 3 years

I cannot believe that one side of parties negotiating with each other would actually want to negotiate! They should just take whatever the club offers and be grateful for it!
