They're coming in to earn their place in the starting eleven, just like any other player we sign. We're top of the league, none of them can expect to just walk into our team at the moment.
 

So, too late for tumorrer then? Unless its bin agreed all bar the shouting and a notification of signature has been sent to the Fa.
 
Has Coutts' contract extension been triggered yet? Might be a load of b0llocks but did I read somewhere he was stalling (if indeed he is able to)?

I posted that before I knew it was a loan. But as I said, we'll still be paying a fee so the bit about resale value still applies to an extent at least.

It doesnt tho? there is no resale value. If he plays 20 minutes for the rest of the season and helps us in some way to go up, even making the players he could replace play better to keep their place then it would be chump change. He might come, set the world alight and be paul coutts mk2 in which case we could get him for free in the summer as hes out of contract - not that any of this matters of course, your dig was well in before the details of the deal were even announced.

i think there's possibly a different focus with this type of player. rather than him having a re-sale value, if he makes a contribution to our promotion the much increased financial benefits of achieving that promotion will be partly down to him and therefore the investment in his loan fee and wages will have been a wise one, and if we fail to get up we probably discard him so we have no long term commitment to continuing to pay him. In the JTW and in our League position I'd say it looks like a solid well-thought-out deal..

Well it's not really a rumour seeing as it's stated on Chesterfield's official website......Chris turner says he's in talks after telling Caldwell he wanted to leave them on friday, after he heard of our approach.

Probably, in between feeling odd and vomiting. It's not really any kind of justification though. It's a pretty simple request; post in the right forum, as the moderators have asked and show them respect by doing so.
 
Can't say I'm excited by Hanson and O'Shea, they seem similar type of signings as Akinbiyi and Horsfield that Warnock made in the promotion. They're adding more depth to the squad and won't be any use at a higher level, but like that season could help us get over the line.

I'd love us to be signing a couple of Championship quality players that could tear League One a new'un, but that would be an unrealistic expectation to be fair.

The criteria we use to [CONFIRM] rumours is when either the parent club or Sheffield United say that a deal has been done on either the official sites or Twitter.

So far, Chesterfield have admitted that we are in talks. Deal not done = Rumour Mill.
