CONFIRMED Jason Holt on loan

Just had a Hearts fan on Football Heaven who also follows Wednesday, he said he's a decent player and The move to Forest last year was rejected by Hearts after Forest had offered £750,000 for him so the lad sounds like he's definitely got some potential. Said he'd not been in the team much this year but had experience of playing in derbies against Celtic and he was sorry to see him go.

It's more the fact it been another midfielder Alien.We should surely be concentrating our scouting on the areas we are most short on? I'm happy for any player to come in who are playing games at their club,he isn't,he will be nowhere near match fitness and would you not agree we need players for now and not the future? We already have enough of them.

But I would imagine we are getting an excellent prospect on loan until the end of the season, just paying his wages. That can't be too much of a waste of money, fair do's had we spent a couple of hundred K on him. This lad has excellent potential, yes I've seen him play, but no i'm no talent scout.

I'm not saying it's a waste of money mate,i'm generally saying we need players in other positions,and imo,we are wasting our scouting in the wrong areas as proved by yet another midfielder being brought in.

The lad has been reduced to a couple of minutes here and there,we don't need any more players for the future,we need players who are going to get us out of this division now.I don't know anything about the lad but yet another midfielder? Jeysus wept!! Aren't the ones we've already got good enough Nige? Get players in positions where we are short,like Centre back and Strikers.

Wiz agree . No idea if there is any method in the madness . Whether we go up or not , the squad has to be trimmed and start thinking quality over quantity.

He wasn't a Hearts bench warmer last season, but he cannot get into a winning team and as such wants a move. He was apparently upset that Hearts didn't let him join Forest last season. He's an attacking midfielder ,a skinny Glynn Hodges,a sweet shot on him too. I think (but I could be wrong) that he will make a big impact. He will deffo be in the team this season, he's here to play a part if he's coming.

Why are people moaning?! if young players with potential are up for grabs then we should sign them. Not every signing is going to be made to go straight in the first team and make a difference. Sure Nigel will sign a striker soon so some of you can stop getting your knickers in a twist.

Bayern Munich had 13 midfielders and 2 forwards , and look where they are . So it does work . However we seem to have quantity over quality , and we are trying to get out of league 1 , with the only hope this season being by the play offs.

Goals win matches . Striker is no1 priority imo.

You said i had to reserve judgement on him,i never gave any judgement as to how good he was,i simply said we don't really need another midfielder,never commented on how good he was but i'm surely aloud to say we don't need anymore midfielders before we get an attacker or Centre back in.

There propably are a multitude of reasons he hasn't started,but isn't the main thing here the point that he hasn't been starting.It takes a long time to get match fitness up, and we really don't have that much time,lets hope he's already got very good fitness levels.

99% of posters were wrong though ,just pointing it out ,never judge a signing until he has played ,Deane ,shipperley McCeveley the list is endless ,the there is the flip side like Barry Hales ,great signings who were shit. David Tuttle was my biggest misjudgement ,I thought he was an awful player but he did OK. Cant slag players off before we see how they fit in the club.
