Brave man !

Souttar won't be , which makes it all the more surprising that the media noise is less for a CB than for MF & striker.

We currently can't name a substitute CB which is a vulnerable position to be in.

Would have thought we definitely need a permanent CB , whether going for promotion or not.

Robbo getting older & RND fading away.
Anel is our only permanent CB at the right age/quality.

Whilst we do need a striker plus BBD & cover for Souza (Choudhury) ,

the need for a CB is paramount and should be a permanent , which is tied.up before Saturday.

Get an injury and we're fucked at CB , despite having Alfie he's not tall enough and we lack height generally.

FFS Blades , go out and buy a minimum 6'3" CB to replace Souttar or you're not serious about promotion.

Sorry for the rant but this is a player we've known needed replacing since Boxing Day.
I agree CB is the one signing thats a must .Look at our goals against total when Souttar was playing and look how many we have leaked since his injury .It is the defence that has got us to the top of the league but now we are leaking a few . A must is a CB to get us back on track .

But not any centre back, it needs to be someone of Souttars size and ability. Not an easy task, particularly in the notoriously difficult January transfer window when the majority of signings happen in the last few days or even hours.
Hopefully we'll get it right.

Have we been linked with any Souttar replacementa btw? A huge position thats got us where we are with clean sheets

Every transfer window we are an absolute shambles. The process surely needs to be looked at.

What are you on about? We’ve just had arguably one of our best transfer window ever…in our entire history.

It’s not like going into a shop, seeing a price and paying it.
The facts are the better players are always more in demand, so you either pay above valuation or negotiate playing a game of poker.
We have a fantastic recent record regards negotiations, eg Michael Cooper, so something is right within the club.

We had a similar situation everyone getting excited regards the prospect of signing Brewster at Liverpool.
So many of our fans were saying pay £25 million and pay him what ever he wants…..look how that turned out.
We should be fixing a top valuation and not become emotional and stupid getting involved in an auction…so we end up paying well above a valuation.

Also wish our fans would learn from the past.
No need to panic yet, wait until the end of January, then we can all make an informed judgment.

The Blades matched Sunderland's offer of £13m for Cannon, who has been recalled to Leicester from Stoke. The transfer window closes in two weeks, so there is plenty of time for a few players to come through the door.

best transfer window in our history... how come? Cooper & Soutar are good signings but what makes the rest the best in our history?

Another day looking like no one in. Looking increasingly likely we'll be going with the current squad for Saturday.

Summer transfer windows can be good sometimes... last Summer was going well but fizzled out a bit leaving us very thin beyond the first XI. Our expectations were rock bottom though but we actually did some respectable business. I'd give it 7.5/10.

January windows though... we must be one of the worst clubs for JTW signings. Apart from the time we signed Berge I don't have fond memories of them.

It's the bench what worries me! 2 goalkeepers on it at Watford 😒
We're getting people back which is great but we need more in this squad now really. Especially in defence since we're really light at centre back. I'm guessing players will be in soon but not likely for Saturday despite Wilders previous movement expected in 4-5 days which was said last Wednesday.

Given we are now unlikely to have any reinforcements in before an important league game and names are suddenly being chucked around like confetti it doesn't seem like we were as prepared as we should have been, Again.

Could they just maybe reduce the window to a fortnight? I can't be doing with another 2 weeks of this dragged out bollocks.

but what makes the rest the best in our history?
The fact they were signings.

I think we are prepared as to what we want the problem always seems to be the bit in between the start of the JTW and the signing of the player they want.

Whoever does that bit in between whats it called ah yeah the negotiation.

Clubs & agents will be trying to hold buying clubs to ransom at present with buy on promotion clauses etc & playing team off against another . The nearer we get to the last day of the window the more moves will happen when both parties will have to compromise to get players / off their books
yeah its hilarious chancer even more hated now after fans forum mind they will never learn and keep giving him their money 🤣🐷
i love the guy .. he’s the gift that keeps on giving 🐷 .. good old Deiph 👍

We have been fucked about by both Leicester and Southampton with the signings of Choudhrey and BBD.
I dont think you can blame the club / manager/ owners for this situation as there were many people saying these were done deals

theres even some posters on porkypigtalk suggesteing chansiri set it all up about charles getting recalled during piggate forum by leaving room as if southampton had just rung up when he knew earlier in day they had recalled him and i wouldnt put it past him 🤣🤣🐷🐷

correct and think wilder is the type of manager to just walk away unless both clubs change their stance i suspect both deals are dead in the water
