We need a finisher, hopefully new owners and new manager will be in by then and we ca n push on in new year

ambitious i know but if we could get brereton-diaz and tom cannon in january i think we would be nailed on for top 6

CB or RB - hopefully just 1 - a CB - Jimmy Dunne. Depends on Seriki's injury, and our plans with Gilchrist.

CM - Souza replacement.

CM - Arblaster replacement. Morton?

LW - Brereton

CF - McBurnie

RW / AM - someone who can run with the ball. Dolan from Blackburn?

It is indeed 5 minimum, if we're serious about competing for top 2. These injuries have turned an achievable window into a very tall order. We could have got away with 3. Now it's more like 6

I know you like Jimmy Dunne, but I don't think he's commanding enough to replace Souttar as our regular CB.

He could come in at RB, but it's the CB we need more. I'd rather we went out and got as close to a like-for-like for Souttar in that area.

Souza replacement? Isn't he only out for a few weeks? Souza backup is fair.
OK, but quality backup - as Souza will be missing a lot of important and difficult games

The hardest part to replace will be his composure and ability on the ball. Barely put a single foot wrong, and inspired confidence. Dunne isn't as good on the ball but is probably just as commanding and a bigger threat at set pieces

Based on Wilders interview today I think I you're going to be very disappointed if you want 5. Think we're looking at three max myself unless someone leaves. I'm feeling pretty negative right now after hearing there's no one back till Norwich on the injury list and Wilder's vague answers on transfers coming in but maybe he's just keeping it vague and we're about to bring in players.

Then there's a part of me that thinks there's no point in even going up anyway given we're probably set for a 20 - 25 point season next year unless we spend over £100m in the summer!

It's the injuries that do my head in. Players get injured for six weeks in our team where we've never seen the injury actually happen! Souttar and Arblaster out for the season with totally innocuous injuries. We've had ridiculous amounts of injuries over the last three seasons or so, it's becoming a farce. I know Burnley and Leeds have had injuries for a number of players but their squads can cope.

if thats the case we aint finishing top 2 and will have to settle for a play off spot were gonna finish 3rd or 4th imo top 4 already there and think middlesbro and west brom will make the 6 up

Have a feeling we'll be bringing in some overseas players. The attraction of maybe playing in the Premiership next season may convince some to come especially those that don't want to be a bench player with a team currently in the top division. Like I said just a feeling, not itk just a feeling, we'll more of a hope actually. Bring in a hidden gem like Anel or Vini. They are out there...I'm sure!!

Putting a 16 year old on the bench today smacked at Wilder making a point about the depth of the squad. Presumably he'd never come on the pitch, regardless, so I can't understand any other reason for him being there. I'm not expecting a lot of action in January if he's making a point already!

We do need another right back though. We have Gilchrist and Seriki (with Sackdev out long term). It's a farce that he wants to take off Gilchrist every game but in doing so we have to change formation.

It would make sense to bring back Curtis but he's not even making Posh's first team!

Cooper at Milwall?

Cooper is shit just like Jimmy Dunne who keeps getting suggested.

I certainly hope we aren't playing in scotland next season. 😉

Re midfield from what i have seen I like the look if Thordarson at Preston
dont think he would cost the earth and he looks solid and composed

Agree regards cooper, hes not that good but Dunne would be a decent cheap pick up to help get us over the line, can play rb and cb, adds the height and strength we will be missing from soutter.

Who would you realistically suggest for January who would be better? - not a dig just genuinely curious.

I'd go for a premier league loan. Seen Boly mentioned on here who would be a good shout. Just don't get the love in with Dunne. Been awful whenever I've seen him ( not that often admittedly)

I don’t think we need 5.

Unless Souza or Seriki’s injuries are season ending I think we only need 3.

We need a centre half, central midfielder and a forward.

For a centre half, we should be aiming for someone who’s not necessarily going to start every week (Robinson and Anel can). We’d need a starting midfielder, preferably on a loan. As a forward we need someone who’s can make an impact. BBD and McBurnie obviously would do this but I don’t see either as realistic and I just think they’re examples of fans clamouring for ex players.

Can't agree with the idea of a McBurnie return.
Are we really that desperate?
26 goals in his last 160 matches.
My most recent memory of him is his bottle job vs Burnley away last season.

Just think our loan spots would be better utilised in attack/midfield, and then get a cheapish half decent cb/rb. Personally I like the idea of that Millwall lad tanganga?but don't think he would be cheap.

I also think Dunne would do a job for us from now til end of the season being able to cover two positions, and then provide back up from there on out. (Always seems to be amongst top regarding stats, clearances, headers, tackles, interceptions) etc but they can always be misleading.

I don’t see McBurnie coming back nor being right nor him wanting to return.

I’d think at the top end BBD makes sense.

Midfield is obvious that we need a deep sitting midfielder as Souza cover or back up.

At the back we certainly need a replacement for Souttar, Anel and Robinson are good but they need a leader next to them to command the defence and sweep,

We need more pace in the squad, seriki, brooks and JRS are the pace we have currently and they don’t often get game time together.
