We need to spend to stay up1) Will we really splash the cash if the playoffs are completely out the window?
2) What kind of player would be able to attract in a potential relegation battle?

How can we simply send back those you don’t think are performing ? Surely it will need their parent club to agree. We need a full back ones whose a natural defender I’d then move Seriki into the Ogbene role as he can both defend & attack . Also tall ball winning centre mid ( Souza replacement) Soumare isn’t that player & let’s see how Chong goes with the injury but he can play other midfield roles and a target man who can hold the ball up ( Moore replacement) .
In the likely event these would need to be loans I’d return the following to their parent clubs
Bindon
Barry
Soumare
Godfrey
Ogbene
I’d being looking to loan Cannon out to free up some wages for a replacement & if we hadn’t bought Matos & McGuinnes ..basically the recent recruitment has been dross![]()
To be fair, if they aren’t getting minutes with us the loaning club would probably agree so they can send them somewhere where they will. How can we simply send back those you don’t think are performing ? Surely it will need their parent club to agree.
PM me broLiking the sound of this one…who’s he play for?![]()
Depends on the terms of the loan agreements by both parties , loaning club will probably have a say in min number appearances , loaned to club ability to terminate loan poss with clausesHow can we simply send back those you don’t think are performing ? The cupboard is bare.Need? Yes. There's surely not going to be any money though. We're staring at a £45m cliff edge. £55m if we go down
Spending ?We need to spend to stay up
Take all our league results since beating Coventry in April and based on 15 played compared to the first 15 last season we would still be in the bottom twoDont, you'll be called a bedwetter for suggesting transfers are needed!!!
All those that were called bedwetters were clearly proved right to be concerned... 8 games in...
Leicester City will not help anyone in the same division.I think we will go for Choudary for RB, I also think Soutter will come in as another CB, as for a big striker, I do like Coburn at Millwall as someone mentioned earlier, easy choice would be for us to go after Mcburnie (but i am not sure we will). if it was me and I had the money I would go for J. Sargent at Norwich. Just my thoughts.
Excellent post….. this is our legacy after earning circa £400 million from our Premier League years!!!! Yeah a few good things to the stadium…. But honestly gross mismanagement of funds to leave us almost skint going into 2026/27 season…….barring a miracle! The cupboard is bare.
We borrow against future parachute instalments.
The money has already gone.
We aren't staring at a cliff edge.
We're staring at the cliff-side as we hurtle down it.
Sorry to disappoint.
But take comfort.
We've got Cannon & Matos.
They're our investments.
After 6 straight years of PL & Parachutes.
Ooh , and a field in Dore.
Only dem Blades could have achieved this remarkable result.
With all the £ that's come & gone.
Be interesting to see how we get on next season.
With a fraction of the income.
best post ive seen for ages and spot on but would still like us to play 2 strikers your right though our play is so slow and the number of sloppy passes back to the opposition is unforgiveable for proffesional footballers on very good money a lot of the focus has been on selles and wilder but boy do these players need to wake up and give our fans something to shout aboutWe never do early anything. It's all so pedestrian, everything recycled around the edge of the box, attacking players on their heels, almost hands on hips, waiting for SOMETHING and giving ample time for the opposition defence to organise and set. We so rarely attack the opposition final 3rd at pace and ask questions. Unless we change the system, I don't think it really matters how many we have up front.
So even more reason to have been concerned with the the way business was conducted in the summer.Take all our league results since beating Coventry in April and based on 15 played compared to the first 15 last season we would still be in the bottom two
They haveI really hope some of the season loans have break clauses in them without financial penalty. Wilder obviously doesn’t rate some of them with good reason.
Easy to say with hindsight and it felt like a change was maybe needed, but we'd have been better off keeping him. That Heckingbottom lad seems to be doing well
Posted ?Wilders January wishlist document has been posted to the owners..boyscout Bettis is passing it on.
Thinking about it , Bettis has been the only constant in the last 6 years since we hit the PL.Wilders January wishlist document has been posted to the owners..boyscout Bettis is passing it on
Who knows, he might be 'repairing his relationship with the owners' as we speak .....Easy to say with hindsight and it felt like a change was maybe needed, but we'd have been better off keeping him.
