Did anyone else pick up on this last night on FH ? Jamie Ward said words to the effect that the spirit was good and 'most' people were happy. MA has also come out and said that if anyone wants to leave it'll be sorted this month so maybe there's one or two who aren't up for the fight and want out ?

Given that we're down to the bare bones and no-one seems to be being frozen out, makes you wonder who both are seemingly talking about.

If I had to guess which first teamer might leave, I would plump for Britton. I would also not be surprised to lose Ward himself, although these comments make it less likely.

Yeah, I'd say Britton and I do wonder how much more abuse Squinny would take from fans before wanting out.

Yep, Britton is probably a decent shout, he's probably wondered what the hell he did more than a few times since his transfer. Not too sure about Squinny, if you look on the rare occasions we score a goal, he's always 1st to the scorer and usually celebrates more than most. OK, he's going to be p1ssed off if he's not playing, any player would be but I don't see him as not being up for a fight, in more ways than one !

I don't think Wardy necessarily wants out either, he's out of form and he knows it. It looks like he might get a run in the team so it's up to him. It was significant that he took the penalty on Saturday IMO, it was purely to get him on the scoresheet and try and build confidence. Why do that if he isn't in the plans.

Neither do I, but he's the only one other than Britton who would actually command a transfer fee, and hence we might see the back of him.

I think that was as much down to him starting his career with Villa than anything else.

Ched would command a fee of at least a million.

LOL

If Evans could really be sold for a million he'd have gone on New Year's Day.

Young international player, with a lot of potential, who's hit a bit of scoring form.

Don't see why a million isn't realistic

The days of that sort of transfer fee at our level is pretty well gone in any case. We tend to look at the Blades in isolation but all clubs, unless they have a sugar daddy, are having to reduce their levels of debt. Clubs paid big fees in the past out of borrowed money, they can't do that any more. Its basically a market correction, similarly to housing prices, but much more marked.

He would be gone in a blink of an eye if that was the case.
No-one would pay that or take on his wages.

Derby, Norwich, QPR and Forest probably would to name a few. I don't think his form will have tempted any lower Prem teams but then again there's worse players who have achieved similar moves in past windows.

Eh? Why would any of those clubs spend over £1m and take on wages of £15k to £20k for a guy who's scored 10 goals in 60 or 70 games?

A lot of Norwich fans I know have told me they would love to see him linked up with piggy Holt up top for them, but they can't afford that much money so it won't happen.

Besides, he's beginning to look half decent now after his extravagant settling in period!

Because all 4 of those clubs have done it in recent seasons.

This thread started off about Jamie Ward.

I saw a piece in the Sun today that he's a regular practice partner for the snooker player - Ding watsisname. Maybe he's spending too much time at the snooker table...

I'm surprised he can reach to play on a proper table

Haha, that's a valid point :D

A former William Hill colleague wanted to ask him for ID in a Chesterfield branch, once. She was put right by the duty manager :)

Yeah, I'd say Britton and I do wonder how much more abuse Squinny would take from fans before wanting out.

More pertinently: How many more abject, inept performances are the fans expected to tolerate before letting him know what they think? How much further are our parlously limited resources to be squandered on a complete passenger?

Go, and go now.

Calve and britton according the the ITKs

Isn't it amazing how we can sign a good midfielder and within a few months there's absolute hatred for him. Britton, Harper, bloke from Barnsley who's name escapes me and so on. We get all excited about what a great player we are and then soon enough a switch is flicked and they're the worst thing in the team.

It's depressing :(

Not a chance in a million. My opinions are widely known, but lets say he's just half as shite as I reckon. Who else is going to pay him anywhere near half what we do? His wages dictate that the only way he'll leave us is on a free.

I agree entirely. After a while, the common factor becomes clear. Britton failing would say more about us than him.

I'm not sure any of them have done that recently but if you could put together a video of Ched's goal spree and bung a copy to them all...

That's a big ask. Would they accept a few photo's?

:D

Absolutely right. Leon passes the ball to a team-mate far too often for the 'We Love Hoofing' brigade. Gerritupfield! We're only SUFC - stop it with your fancy ideas. We don't do that 'ere.
