Just heard this afternoon , not from anyone in the know but a staunch Blade has spoken to some guy at the club. All a bit vague I guess,we'll see.WUEDP?
Whether it’s unlikely or not, it’s what we needI think that's unlikely unfortunately
I agree with this. The panic is coming because we need so many players. For those panicking that we were slow to do business, in 2019, first Wilder Premier League season, we signed:
Luke Freeman - 3rd July
Callum Robinson - 12th July
Both were record signings and were done “early”, at the time as a signal of intent to get some business done early and we then added a number of additions, breaking the record again after this.
The point being that we aren’t particularly late getting started and the signing shouldn't be judged on its own but when the business for the summer is done we’ll have a better idea of how the squad is looking.
On Shackleton alone, good age but has been around for a while, looks a versatile player, perhaps a bash replacement.
It’s not going to be easy and we’ve not exactly put ourselves in a good position, but we’ll have a capable squad in place.I agree with this. The panic is coming because we need so many players.
I really don’t think many expect us to start the season with less than 16 ‘first team’ pro’s. But a few are pretending they are!
Even rich men understand the value of a free lunch
Solid, hardworker who we shouldn’t be relying on for more than 15+ games as he’s a backup at this level. Had some ongoing injury concerns.
Good pick up as he’s versatile, would have taken Osborn over him as I think he’s a better player due to his availability. We need to fill some gaps though.
I'm fine with this signing. This isn't a marquee signing.
This is a squad player who if they play to their potential will hold down a place in the championship.
And he can play a few positions which will help.
It's basically like another Osborn, albeit it sounds like he may be possibly better technically.... marginally? FYI I quite liked Osborn and would have kept him personally.
My only concern is Shackletons recent injury record. I'm done with half the squad out with injuries at any point.
We need this lad to have a 30+ game season if we are going to achieve anything.

No but the context is the key… I see lots of comments that were fucked because we’ve not had the business done and dusted by end of June…I don’t think we were down to about 8 players back then tho Swiss
We’ve signed one. Roll on the next dozen
I’d be very surprised (worried) if he starts more than 10-15 games. He’s not really Championship level.
I’d expect another CM to come in, or two if we lose Hamer, with Shackleton featuring from the bench.
