Jamie Murphy

Kevin McCabe claimed that the Blades had already received over two million for Jamie Murphy in April 2016. Since then, Brighton have been in the play offs and promoted, probably triggering other clauses.

Could he play in the Duffy position?

More to the point - does he need to with Carruthers, Brooks and Duffy himself?

Murphy was always more effective playing from the left - a position that doesn't really exist in CW's current formation.

Seen a Southend fan call Leonard "the white Kante". If this is accurate, you can see Wilder's thinking.

It's okay, according to Oxford fans George Baldock is the English Cafu so at least we have that.

When did Murphy develop all this pace? Must be since I last saw him. He's not slow but pacey? Not really. He's not even black.

All relative. He’s no Littlejohn/Kabba/Shelton in the pace department but is probably at least as fast, if not faster (and a better player) than Lavery who is about our paciest attacking player at the moment.

Murphy in full flight is frighteningly fast.

I can think of 2 occasions off the top of my head. Scougalls goal at Wembley when he got away from about 3 defenders. Also, his goal at Bristol City away (look how much distance he makes on his nearest defender)

i loved murphy, but 2 reasons he wont be back in my opinion, obviously firstly the cost, but mainly as good as he was where would he fit in??? if as i expect we go with the succesful system he would have to convert to the duffy/carruthers role, and i dont see that happening, have to confess i was a lazy arse today and didnt read back 3 comments to see the point had already been made, but now its been made twice so it becomes fact

His goal against Gillingham (I think) was an absolute belter, last minute and beat their entire defence all alone, fantastic goal that was.

To salvage a late 2-2 draw

think it gave us a 2-1 win if its the game i was at. dont get to many living abroad but im sure it was a last minute winner after higdon had equalised at the near post, and the gills goal was a blinder

That is an impressive burst of pace. Also remember Swindon at home when he sprinted onto Louis Reed's through ball and chipped the keeper.

I've heard Fulham are interested.

Murphy's now surplus.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us go in for him. If we can try for Coady we can try for him.
