From the conflicting reports I can only assume it was a 2 year deal with the option of a third. I can't see any way that 3rd year would be exorcised.

I'm pretty sure it's a 3 year contract without a years option, I could be wrong but that's what I heard, if this is correct then we're going to have to negotiate very well with him at the end of the season to sort the situation out.

I decided in the hope of cheering myself up this evening from our current plight to update the pinned contract thread at the top of the board.

The good news is that I reckon I can clear the Wallace contract up – looks like it's a two year deal with an option of a third. The source? Clough himself talking to Radio Sheffield:


"I think it'll be two years with the option or something, that seems to be mainly what we're doing at the moment so up to three years"

"He's got a bit of strengthening to do on his knee." – yes Nigel, he still has too.

So we make the playoffs we get Wallace for another year, although knowing this lot we won't even have to make the playoffs to get to keep him.
