Fair comment. Allegedly the two deals were not linked but they must have been as there’s no way he would be leaving for that fee!I don’t think anybody else would have got him for anything like that money. Not saying that it’s linked to the Nunez deal or anything.....
Pity that we missed out on him this time around, but some consolation in the fact that McAtee brings more of what we need right now.
There’s a few but I know Bradford are one.You know which League 2 clubs are looking at Marsh?
I sit next to a Bradford fan on one side, Stockport on the other, they are both desperate for a striker too. There’s a few but I know Bradford are one.
Don't worry, we can just fax all the contracts through to him and when he's signed them he can fax them back. Sorted!Doesn't paperwork need to be completed by 12:30pm for him to be in the squad tomorrow?
There’s a couple in yes but I think we’re front runners. It’s mainly down to timing and sorting everything out. We’ve really pushed for the McAtee deal to get through and in time for tomorrows game as that was our priority so this deal has gone on the back burner a little. Hopefully we can push hard in the next few hours to get it sorted. What's the problem with the foreign loan T-Blade ? Are other clubs in the mix ?
I don’t think I’ll live long enough now to see the day someone doesn’t bring up the feckin fax machine. One day some young lad will join the forum and on deadline day he turn to his dad and ask what the fax machine thing is all about?Don't worry, we can just fax all the contracts through to him and when he's signed them he can fax them back. If we get Origi sorted i will piss my pants. There’s a couple in yes but I think we’re front runners. It’s mainly down to timing and sorting everything out. Having seen the reported £4m-5m fee he went for, surely we could have put some sort of proposal together where he takes a reduction in wages in lieu of a big signing on fee that would make up the difference. No sense dwelling on it now, but it does seem an opportunity lost given his quality, age and desire to play for us. At thy fee his is an absolute steal even with the 50% sell on.

May it’s come from “a Blade in the office”Exactly why I’m asking mate, seems very odd. Just wondered where it had come from. But also could explain why it’s taken so long, as don’t see hecky committing to it…
Probably just an FFP accounting thing
Market value for Nunes could be more like £63m and Doyle £15m
But if the two parties sell at £53m and £5m respectively, it's the same net outlay, but both teams end up with a lower transfer expense amortised through the accounts over the life of the contract
If we had realistically offered £5m for Doyle in isolation it would have likely been rejected
And there sums up perfectly the level of understanding of some.I don't have two short brick emojisAlso, mentioned a few times in this thread, Doyle had to be a purchase. We want McAtee and can only get him on loan, so Doyle needed to be a buy. Hecky decided to save the money and put it towards “the very top of the pitch” and get Davies in midfield instead, who isn’t exactly an unknown.
I hope Davies plays really well as I fear he will be a scapegoat if not. People will see him as the reason Doyle isn’t with us.
AyeI bet not many of those commenting attended Maine Road when they were struggling in L1. How does the chant go - "Where were you when you were sh:t?"???
I would guess Utd would play better football if they had £1bn+ to spend on players and had a striker on £1m/week. Equally, I'm not sure anyone could turn Ben Osborn into the next Xavi nomatter how much money you throw at him
I have heard he has got a big chopper too. Can anyone confirm?!Diva Origi flying into Doncaster/Sheffield airport this morning.
Its that old Midland Station senario.
Aye
But they revere Shaun Goater to this day
Wonder where he fits on their (current) shite list?
Don't think supporting Sheffield United is really for you mate
You could join all the entitled man utd fans in twitter currently crying about not competing with Chelsea man citeh and arsenal
Wanted both - and Doyle was an upgrade on Norwood- same passing but better mobility. But to get McAtee you have to say well done to the Blades there, definitely a good scoop.Preferred Doyle
Reyt sulk on now
