He's the only keeper I remember who doesn't run towards his goal applauding the Kop when the teams come out. I'd put it down to superstition rather than shyness.

I love how he loiters in the middle of the half!

This is exactly why I haven't listened to local radio since Seth Bennett was in short trousers.

Poor o.p. about trivia from about 30 out of 26000 fans. Hard for Deadbat to give any keeper more than 7.5 when there's only one shot on target and Reading hardly got in our final third.

The thing I'm liking at the minute is I wouldn't be disappointed if either keeper was in goal, we have 2 really good keepers.

The irony is, the better he is, the more certain it is that Chelsea wil recall him, no win for us I'm afraid.

I can see why people are worried. He is going to make a complete howler at one point. He came close at least twice v Ipswich for no reason taking ages to get rid of the ball. They hit the bar after one balls up. That said, I like him. I love how he looks like he's playing in a park and not in front of 26000.

How the foook can anyone grumble at anything at the present time , tossers .
Do you think Wilder takes your pint of view? Everything is so fucking rosy, nowt to worry about, just keep turning up lads, success is guaranteed? Wake up mate, the whole picture is turning every second of every day, we are mearly pointing out some minor failings, which, if we are to maintain this fabulous journey, we need to be mindful and adjust shit accordingly.

If we had won every single game you can bet some miserable fucker would emerge from the shadows to grumble about fuck all

Is it next week dad ?
Cant understand what this guy has to do to win some over ,usual nobheads on praise and grumble want him replaced ,Deaders only gave him a 7.5 ,is it simply we cant find owt else to mump about ? He is becoming a cult figure for me ,best since Kenny ,a great keeper and a calming figure ,for the players anyway.

Just had a very similar rant on the Leeds team thread. :)

Basham didn't track the far post man (watch his reaction when they score) and both Blackman and O'Connell were wrong footed, O'Connell at least making an attempt at the ball.

I think you're mixing Basham up with Stevens aren't you? Bash has the lad on the edge of the box and he holds him up I think.

I agree with the consensus. Not Blackman's fault at all. O'Connell and Stevens should mark that guy between them and JOC has to clear that but we play a fairly complicated system that's bound to go wrong occasionally, especially when counter attacked. They've made very few mistakes and we won, so no blame needed really.

JOC loves to be on the ball. It can mean that when defending he thinks a little too much about the ball and not enough about the opponents around him. For the second goal at Forest he watched the ball and lost the man. Again on Saturday he didn’t check behind and then got his feet tangled. However, the real mistake here was Stevens, who watched the guy run in and made no attempt at all to go with him. JOC could well have assumed that cover was coming in behind him.

Overall, I think they were all completely knackered, and relaxed a bit feeling the game was won. Nothing lost though, and another reminder that keeps us honest for next week.

The Magic is Back

Always thought that was an odd custom, applauding the fans on the way out.

Think you’ve hit on something there. For years, we saw playing at Bramall Lane in front of a big crowd put the fear of god into players. Here’s a lad who doesn’t seem to let it bother him one bit, and he’s getting pelters for it? He’s been fine in a team that’s third in the table, so can’t quite understand the clamour to replace him with a ‘keeper who’s not played a competitive game since April. What’s the bigger risk there?!

Totally agree. Stick with the old adage, if it aint broke don't fix it!

THIS^^^^^

He has a calming effect on the whole team and just gets on with his job without any histrionics. A nervous twitchy keeper makes for a nervous twitchy team. Why on earth would anybody nitpick and want to change a key player in a winning team just because our ‘No 1’ is now fit? I bet Moore fully understands why he’s got to be patient and I suspect they were the same people giving Moore stick this time last season.

Blackman has sides of his game the he needs to improve like his kicking (although he’s no worse than Moore) and he could be a bit more vocal, but that will come with experience. Overall, he’s been a vitaL part of this season’s success story and (IMO) we’ve now got a top young keeper whose just going to keep on improving and in Moore good backup. A better situation between the sticks than we’ve had for years, probably since Ned and Tracey.

I like Jamal and disagree with the criticism he gets but how he can get an 8 or 9 when Reading offered so little. he did well with a couple of crosses but don't recall him making a save all game.

Blackman definitely has a mistake in him...

Just like Sharpy. I know he's our top scorer but one day he will miss a sitter and as such......hold on.....erm......

Not heard him interviewed so I'm guessing a bit here but to me he appears to be really really laid back, not in a lazy way but a kind of Usain Bolt / Viv Richards way.
