Signed a 2 year deal in the summer 2016 but does anyone know why his contract doesn't run out till 2020? Solid player he is but never seen any news about an extension and he should have been a free last summer judging his 2 year deal.
Needs game time and would get in any league 1 side

What he needs is a matter of supreme indifference. It’s what we need that counts.

Never understood the shaky Jake tag; don't think I have seen a less shaky player than him to be fair. Where he did fall short he was just out powered or out paced. As good as he is at reading things, a yard in the head is still only a yard when you are up against highly experienced championship players.

He's about as shaky as a breezeblock. Isn't it just a Pinchy thing that?

It just rhymes, he isn't actually shakey.

If there was a 'Shakey Jakey' club I would gladly join. Sometimes you just need a CB to kick it, head it and tackle. If that's the case Jake's your man. He's not Egan but then if we had Egan on the bench and in the team we'd be leaving a good player out each week. Jake is more than adequate backup and in my view more dependable than Stearman.

And a damn sight cheaper.

In fairness the shakey jakey thing was the label given to his fans rather than JW himself. He doesn't play for the reasons you have given and we've moved on since his day.

Traffic cone Monty
Dinosaur Dave
Semi pro Blackwell
Muck and nettle Morgs

The hilarity continues with Sheffield's side splitting hospital under severe stress again.

A defender of proper football agaisnt the Hoof Straw Legions, he sees himself as some kind of heroic defender of the faith.

In reality, he is a WUM and one with a fairy tedious repetoire at that.

Obviously written with passion and at speed. Correct those spelling errors please. At once!

Fair enough, wouldn't disagree that we have better now and I think most of us can agree that he will leave us with his head held high. Did a reyt job and a half for us, and then some.

Where’s 2020 come from? He was given an extension in the summer but only for a year I believe

Little Louis Vanarama was my personal favourite.

You missed his pictorial effort.

I agree entirely. The Shakey Jakies are his fan club who decided early doors that Stearman had to be shite because Wilder has preferred him to their favourite. Their attitude to Stears, just as good a pro as Jake, was vindictive and sometimes vicious. I suspect they’re all EDL Brextremists in their spare time.

Jake Wright is a limited but steady and fully committed league one centre-back. He had a fabulous season with us where he played well above his previous standards (he was released by Oxford and no longer a regular starter there.

He was never going to keep his place in our Championship team. Stearman hasn’t either. We’re moving on. Thanks for that season Jake.

Aye, I bet that poster who confidently informed us on numerous posts that Stearman would be our first choice CB this season and Egan would be replacing the “dodgy” Basham at RCB is feeling a little foolish now?

But the fellow is right! Basham was and is dodgy defensively. He will demonstrate that many times before the season is out, not least by way of conceding daft free-kicks on the edge of the box.

Right now, he more than makes up for those deficiencies by his overall contribution, which is outstanding. His place in the team is one of the easy selections at the moment.
