Be it Stearman, CCV, Blackman or whoever, it's easier to slate a player than put your head above the parapet and openly criticise Wilder.

We all have our favourite players and that’s fine. Mine, sadly, has a broken leg and our recent form is closely reflecting just how good he is.

Neither Stearman nor Wright are close to the top of my list, but the malice towards the former simply because Wilder manifestly prefers him to the latter is both conspicuous and contemptible.

Stearman had his fucking hand up shouting for offside when he was he was playing them all on by 5 yards, that simply would not have happened with Wright back there, he controls the movement of the back 3 like no other player we have. Don't get it Chris.

I don't blame Stearman for that. Another one of their players was offside but not interfering. If you want to criticise, who was marking Flint? It was usually O'Connell but he was completely free.

I thought Stearman was much improved. He made a couple of mistakes second half and was lucky to atone for them, but he seemed for the first time to get into the swing of being part of the team. We play an unusual way, it must take time to bed in.

The unusual way you talk about is we attack on all fronts and he got in on the act,we are so exciting to watch long may it continue

Stearman had a decent game but it's a fact that he played their scorer on for the goal and had his arm in the air appealing an offside that wasn't coming.

Would love to see our stats in terms of points gained and goals conceded with Wright on the pitch versus Wright off it since he arrived at the club 1 1/2 seasons ago. I bet we've conceded 1/2 as many goals when he's on the pitch.

Maybe that's just because he's a lucky guy but I think it's got more to do with his reading of the game and organisational skills.

agree that we looked good with 10 men but a back four doesn't look solid without a midfield in front of it, so your criticism of the manager's decisions looks a little undermined. I think you've misunderstood the reason we lost the game. I'm afraid that when the rest of the defence has moved out to hold a higher line and one player stays 4 yards further back then that is at least part of the problem. Doesn't make Stearman a poor player at all but the point being made by a few is that Wright nearly never allows those situations to arise.

I have little sentiment for any player - only in the team being a team.

We are looking a tad ordinary with Lundy and Stearman in for the two that could play in those positions. Both decent players to be fair, but not quite what is needed unless you want an average mid table team. We have seen how not to be average mid table, yet we are now quite clearly heading in that direction.

It's all about the players - and it's not quite Carling.

Stevens pushes up with O'Connell and the rest of the team, playing the goalscorer offside. Stearman is the only player left deep in the box and plays them onside. Its a Stearman mistake and possibly an organisational error from the defence as a whole. Team ShakeyJakey.

Stearman was trailing behind the rest due to him playing less games than the rest of the defence, in other words he was tired meaning he couldn’t react in time to push out like the rest of them did, he also couldn’t have anticipated how the ball was going to ricochet and loop over to their player unmarked who incidentally only found himself there through pure luck and tiredness.

Stearman will be a good player once he gets more game time and up to speed with the rest of the squad, that I’m sure of.

Wright hasn’t done much wrong this season and will always give 100% and has the organisational skills of a leader of a bomb disposal unit, he’s a very cool customer.

Tough decisions for Wilder but how can you drop Wright and how will Stearman get game time if Wright plays most games? I’m glad I’m not the manager.
