and that is why we are like a colander ! Jake Wright is the glue that holds them together. no surprise that since he has been back in we are leaking badly. Also Jamal would have come for that cross while Moore stands rooted to his line

i am afraid CW is contributing to his own downfall by picking the wrong players

Jake brought the best out of Bash, JOC & CCV because of his ability to read the game & leadership skills. Stearman is clumsy and is Collins-esque in his communication 'skills'

It seems to me that Wilder is treating Stearman like that designer Leather Jacket you bought for half price; it should be top stuff, it should be great so you persevere with it despite being aware that when you wear it you look like a complete nobhead...

Why does CW persist with this useless twat??

So glad its not just me, his 'Ability' is non-existant - league 1 standard at best from what i've seen. Watching him play is like watching an episode of miranda full of 'comical' falling over and banging into things.

I think Stearman is much better than CCV to be honest. If he can play in that RCB then I'd play Stearman, Wright and O'Connell.

Problem is, and this goes for all loan signings, their parent clubs expect them to play.

I will say this, we look much better organised at the back with Wright on the pitch.

I would go same back 3 as last year, Bash-Wright-O'Connell. Stearman is better than CCV but I think Bash is strong at right centre back. We looked like we lacked any organisation in defence each time they went forward - particular annoyance was Villa's second goal. Not only did Jedinak end up totally unmarked when he headed it in, he looked to have started off being marked by Baldock which is a slightly uneven match-up.

Downfall? Wilder? Please tell me that's a joke...

Because many fans love ro have a scapegoat

I don't think its a scapegoat, its spot on.

Stearman was at fault for both goals today. He's not the answer in a back 3. He drops too deep, isn't quick enough, and doesn't command the back line. He's very poor.

Comparative records this season:

Wright: Played 10 / Won 8 / Lost 2. Goals conceded 12. (5 were the freak game against Fulham)

Stearman: Played 8 / Won 1 / Drew 2 / Lost 5. Goals conceded 12.

It shouldn't even be a debate.

Wright is a much better player. We defend better with Wright in the center of a back 3. We concede fewer goals. We win more games.

Nothing personal against Stearman. He's just not as good as Wright, and we're a better team when Stearman doesn't play. Simple as that. As long as we persist with Stearman in the center of a back 3 we will continue to concede goals and not win games.

If they want to keep playing Stearman then change to a back 4.

stearman might be a better player than wright, i’m happy to concede that but when wright plays were a different outfit <shrugs>

ANY defence needs an organiser - Wright is just that.

Stearman isn't bad, but what he is not is an organiser that plays in the middle of a back 3.

Wright, for all his limitations knits the defence together and we just look more of a unit.

Stearman could play RCB - unfortunately we already have 2 that can play there In Bash and CCV

UTB

PS: Bash should have gone today for a 2nd yellow - very very lucky, but also very brave of CW to leave him on the pitch.
