Because he is on silly money now and isn't going to come for peanuts. Even our best Sheffield peanuts.

It can only ever be a very costly financial deal, and why would he accept less than the likes of Bournemouth might pay him?

Playing Devils Advocaat, because that's exactly what we did with Brayford. We signed a player we really couldn't afford. As supporters we all assumed it was part of a bigger plan when it was mainly down to vanity.

Can you honestly see him coming for a wage that is within our current structure? In that highly unlikely event, then maybe he'd be okay for one season or two maximum.

Quite why an established PL player on £60-80k per week would want to lose 90% of this and convince his agent it's a good deal, I don't know.

I don't disagree! I can't see it happening (and don't see without what's quoted above it could ever happen)...

I just don't know why people assume it would be the end of the world and our transfer window 'if' somehow it did happen.

Yep and I know we've been total idiots in the past... but (and I know I've drank the kool aid) I don't see that being the case anymore... I genuinely believe he'd only be here on our terms (hence why I can't see it happening).

Probably but if his wife's mum has had hip replacements or something and his wife wants to be near her on a daily basis she'll get as fed up of that journey as my sister did travelling from Whitby to see my mum.

Some people miss their families and can't stand to be away from them. I'm not one but I understand that not everyone's like me.
