Ah what I've yet again failed to understand is that people on here know the financial workings of every deal and can also see into the future.

Just a guess on the wages hence the word 'probably'. Do you have a better idea?

You don't need to see the future, just look to the recent past. Bent#2, Beattie#2, Higginbotham, Nosworthy, Kitson, Woolford, Hammond all brought their Championship/Premier Legue experience to 'help' us.

And also who is this shit hot youngster we're signing instead of the guy who was capitaning England last year?

Well it certainly 'aint Jags at 35.

You're comparing Jags to WOOLFORD;)?

I can't stress enough I don't think this will happen... but in this hypothetical land where Jags is no longer wanted by Everton who he was starting for last year and wants to take the necessary pay cuts etc etc...

You're comparing this situation to the signing of WOOLFORD? As I said before... lunatic.

Who's this Woodford? He any good?

Nope, just pointing out that our recent record with 'experienced players' hasn't worked out that well.

Who is this Woodford you mention as I've never heard of him? Have you been coming to the Lane long?

Done deal then.

A betting company who make money out of mug punters getting things wrong, are on the case.

Absolutely nailed on with special naily-nails and glue and tied down with rope and welded and......

Just the messenger. I'm as sceptical as the next man, but obviously want it to happen.

I just think it's mental that without any kind of idea what financial package would be offered people are so quick to say this would be a bad idea and typically whinge about it.

I agree. Maybe people want Jay McEverley back instead?

That's also the position if you think he'd be a good signing without knowing his salary and signing on fee and the impact on Wilders total budget.

I think it's mental that this is a 24 page thread when there's only really three options;
1. You don't rate him and you don't think we can afford him.
2. You do rate him but you don't think we can afford him.
3. You rate him and you think we can afford him.

We'll either sign him or we won't.

24 pages and you're trying to be sensible? Leave it out please.

One man's 'whinge' is another's heartfelt opinion.

Can you honestly see him coming for a wage that is within our current structure? In that highly unlikely event, then maybe he'd be okay for one season or two maximum.

Quite why an established PL player on £60-80k per week would want to lose 90% of this and convince his agent it's a good deal, I don't know.
