Another player who's suffered with injuries. If he's back to fitness he'd be a quality signing.

In this evening's Standard - holding out for a Prem move or significant increase on QPR's current contract offer - I'd say either of those would pretty much rule Utd out

Quite surprising. I didn't realise he was at that sort of level. We can probably forget about it.

I suggest we switch Robinsons and go for Antonee, who's better going forward and a natural LWB.

He's a free transfer so not out of our league,one-way of getting round the wage situation is the signing on fee.
If we are to move up the budget league he is the kind of player we will be looking to bring in. Can see this one happening or similar.

Fingers crossed for this one. Ticks a lot of boxes - attitude, versatile, young, British, cheap, good season behind him.

Surely we have some chance as we're nearer his birthplace and he can continue the car share club with our ever increasing Scouse contingent of John Lundstram, Jack O'Connell and Mark Duffy!

Looking at Wikipedia (I know, I know) he was in the same England under 19 squad age group and obviously both being from Liverpool it's possible that Lunny has put a word in! Knowing someone already in a team or someone who can give a heads up on the team could play a part as it did with Dean Henderson and Jo Riley.

Says he turned down a 'very attractive offer', so I assume the figure he is looking for is incompatible with our wage structure.

Sounds a bit like agent talk to me. QPR are skint as far as I'm aware so it can't have been that attractive.

This would be a great coup and certainly fits the mould of a Wilder signing.

Gut instinct is that he ends up somewhere like Huddersfield or Burnley though.

I obviously hope this comes off because in any successful team you need two players for each position so that no player is too comfortable and it keeps them on their toes. Also if one gets injured the other guys steps in. At LWB last season the position was always Enda Steven's as Lafferty was clearly deemed second choice and although he provides the cover, he's not providing the competition and if Stevens did get injured we'd have to play Lafferty for longer periods and in my view he's not quite good enough for the Championship.

Therefore signing someone like Robinson would be a great signing and potentially make Stevens the back-up which strengthens the quality of the team and squad. Hope there's something in this!

Top class, competition and IMO an improvement on Enda as well as genuine ability to play LCB

2 birds, 1 stone.

Bonus: He has a long throw.

That said, I would like a Jay Dasilva type attacking LWB and that wouldn't happen if we signed Robinson.

So I guess I don't really know what I want. Ignore this post. Sorry.

Just watched a quick clip on youtube - I know that doesn't tell the complete story - but he looks defensive to me, not at all attacking minded although no doubt can cross well. He's played centre back this season hasn't he for QPR. Of course we need a centre half too so maybe Wilder will want Robinson to play centre back or LWB and no doubt be a starter wherever he plays.

One good season in four at QPR half that time out injured. QPR offer probably reflects this. Do we really want him with his injury record? Don't see us wanting to pay a high wage for someone with his track record. Can only see him as back up to Stevens and Oconnell. If he comes cheap fair enough otherwise plenty of better options out there.

He seems more neat and tidy than attacking. I'd expect him to do things quicker than Stevens and retain possession better. Could be fairly productive in the LWB position with the room to get forward often. Then there's his long throw, and the fact he could cover CB/LCB.

If we had good ball carriers further up the pitch, Brooks and Palmer for example, that would negate the need for a more attacking LWB. This would probably be the ideal scenario for me. Also better to own your players, and Robinson would be an asset.

Good feedback as ever Ricky. As a Bassett fan, I love a long throw! It might be considered somewhat old school but ultimately its a damn good weapon! I noticed that from the brief highlights! Last one I remember with a long throw was Greg Halford but there was probably one or two after?! My favourite was Vinnie Jones but sadly that was probably his best skill!

You must be confident of Gallagher signing since you've changed your photo!?

There’s a long thrower currently in the squad actually - Ryan Leonard ;)

Long throws aren't to be scoffed at. Very useful weapon. And at Bramall Lane (unfortunately) there's a big gap from the touchline to the advertising boards so there's plenty of room for a long throw run up.

As for Gallagher.... it just feels right.
