Jack Robinson to Wrexham

Should be a straight red card.

A terrible example of a Captain.

If we're serious about changing the culture of the club, then get rid of Robinson and certainly don't make him Captain.
What a sad state of affairs, that we are now so desperate we have to lean on Robinson to stay and play for us for a few games because we are literally out of options.

At best he's 10 minute back up for a decent Champ side, at worst he's an out and out thug that belongs nowhere near our club, he's a total disgrace, I mean what the hell was that last night, he was a 1 man destruction button determined to get sent off in a situation where thats the last thing we needed.

He's a twat and a shit footballer to boot.

You want a straight red card for that? It was a joke of a booking and he was right to slate the officials.

Overall for the money we paid he's been a very good signing. You'll not get a defender as good as him at this level for £3m. Can't believe people want him gone when he's our only proper centre half
Agree he’s been a good servant to SUFC but making it clear he does not want to be here. On on field antics are not professional who knows what he’s like in the dressing room and training.

Problem is the owners have allowed the squad to have its backbone ripped out and he’s the best we’ve got. However, he’s that hot headed at the moment a sending if is the last thing he needs or we want.

Yep - I’m on the fence about his behaviour last night… because I think it came from a huge level of frustration with what’s happening to the team… and I was shouting much the same sort of stuff at the tv throughout 😀
Jack has been a really good servant to the club.. gives everything in games and provides some much needed steel.
His time is obviously ending now but boy do we need some experience and steel to replace him. Whatever the views on him, we can’t let him go without replacements coming in first surely?

I do, yeah. 100%.

I played rugby most of my life and you're taught to respect the referee.
Comms go through Captain's, no back-chat, zero tolerance on abuse / foul language.

On the odd occasion I've dropped into a football kickabout, it's quite shocking the levels of disrespect shown to refs but if the professionals can't uphold any standards then it's no wonder.

It needs stamping out.

I agree with your overall point but it would be really galling to see one of our players get sent off for something that so many of the top players get away with every single week.
It’s a weird one because if the authorities really wanted to stamp out that kind of behaviour all it would take is a few high profile red cards and players would soon be told to fall in line by managers.
I’d like to see spontaneous outbursts allowed because they’re tough to avoid (even in rugby).
But sustained profanity or insults should be dealt with.
Interestingly I’ve seen one or two refs swearing at players in recent years … including in international rugby where the mics pick it up clearly !

Right to slate the officials? He had just been booked, he’s giving the ref justification to brandish another yellow leaving a young United side even more in the shit.

We’ve had a season of gradually increasing fines due to lack of control and our captain is usually front and centre. Aggression is only a positive I’ve it’s controlled and channeled correctly.

JLT is a legacy problem from the previous management and board.

Should have been gone long ago but one of the 'old guard' who had to be kept around the place.

It's not his fault. What we're seeing is a guy who's now limited in what he can give, seen his protector get sacked and now he's in uncharted territory
He is a result of us rising so quickly through the divisions under Chris.

We got promoted almost with a fixed 1-11 from the Championship. As a result we were looking to compete in the Premier League but our back ups were not even Championship, they were League One.

So signings like Robbo came in. Unfortunately instead of replacing O’Connell with another first choice left centre back it went to the back up and that’s how we are where we are.

Ye and it was never a yellow card so he made sure the officials knew about it. Happens constantly I dont think anyone would care if we hadnt got beat twice. We have much bigger problems than Robinson swearing at officials.

The lad gives 100% every time, but he has 2 or 3 mistakes in him. Likeable chap but doesn't fill me with confidence...ever. He also doesn't appear to be on board with the new tactics and nor do they suit him. Passing and high line are not traits id associate with him. Not venturing far from the 18 yard line with a solid DM in front of him.

I'm not condoning the way he interacted with the lino but back in the day, as a fanbase, we'd have all been behind him. To get the atmosphere and fight going. I think it shows how we have softened over the years. Societally most likely.
Like others have said, I also think it comes from frustration with how we're playing, he's the only one left that's actually got any steel. I fear we'll soon be pushovers! Just look at what height we've lost... we'll have to do short corners soon as well have no threat in the air.

Yeh , but we got Brewster

Swearing at the officials is not fight or passion is being a cnut. A stupid cnut because many would have just given him a red card. Under the rules, that's what he should have got.

I don't get why some people on here (and on X where there's more of them) keep claiming that COH Sports are penniless and are "asset stripping".

What Chansiri is doing at Pigs is asset stripping (probably one of the worst cases of it), what Dai Yonnge did at Reading was asset stripping, both of whom sold their ground and other parts of club, decreasing its overall value and ultimately crippling it in exchange for instant money in your hand.

We've sold three (soon to be four) players who had no interest in staying here, and have made/will make a profit and will free up wages on all of them.

Yes, it was silly to sell Anel this late without a replacement, and rightly so they should be criticised for it, but if he really wanted out, would he have even played if he was still here and clearly wanted out (our Captain who is expected to go was on the bench?).

How is that asset stripping?
Difficult to accuse Chansiri of asset stripping as how is paying 60m of his own readies to buy a rust bucket worth a fraction of that asset stripping? That was the opposite of asset stripping as he was massively overpaying for a club asset to make sure they didnt breaching the FFP rules (Derby did the same thing). His 'problem' was overspending and then running out of liquidity. He is now having to sell players to meet ongoing operating costs but that isnt asset stripping.

Asset stripping is buying something with the sole intention of selling all the assets off for more money than you originally paid...and that's not happening either.

Whatever our new owners do that won't be asset stripping either. I think they bought us fully expecting us to get promoted and for them to be left with an asset worth considerably more than they paid for it without them having to put more money in. As soon as we blew promotion plan A got blown out the water. They are now frantically searching for plan B.

He's Premier League mentality with League One ability, so he plays somewhere in between.

The only clamour for him at the moment is because we have nobody else and don't want to get rid before we sign anyone else, not because he's especially good.

He was our best defender in the last Premier League campaign i said then and I'll say the same now very very low bar

Although I agree about trying to respect refs more, etc... I can't stand anything about Rugby.

He was very lucky not to have been sent off. There were a few times last night it seemed like he was keen to be sent off. Including his booking of pushing a player unnecessarily, three times. Getting booked, then swearing back chatting about it a lot.

He may be one of two senior CBs but he's not been good enough for years - even when he was at his best - I really hope the Wrexham money is true and we just sign new CBs (ASAP!).

wonder if he is getting mad/angry because he knows Wrexham want him and he also thinks that the club is shafting his move saying we have to get a replacement in first...he also thinks that is the club lying no replacement incoming.......just like Ahmedhodzic no replacement.

His value will be peanuts .....but if he was worth much more say £10m he would be gone just like Ahmedhodzic.....the Yanks like money coming in.

Tbf as much as I don't rate him, I really don't blame him for being frustrated at Utd not agreeing to / slowballing his move away. Given this undoutedly will be his final season at Utd, the offer of 2 / 3 years on more money, anyone would want / push for such a move. The criticism of him, which will inevitably reach him in some form, won't have done anything to persuade him to stay, neither would Selles' style of play, which in no way will suit him.
I think being selected to play last night highlighted where his head is - while he had no choice but the play, it was obvious to all that he didn't want to be there.
I just hope the club shift him and backfill asap but given the pace of transfer activity to-date, he may well (have to) play again for the club.

I haven't waded through the whole thread but I thought the Birmingham player made a real meal of being slightly pushed - would he fall over in the street? Having said that JLT shouting "F Off" in the linesman's face was inexcusable in my eyes - especially when he was already on a yellow. Could have been down to 9 men as well with that terrible tackle by Soumarie.
