For all those who seem mystified by the vitriol being aimed JLT's way.

I've never seen a CB with such a poor ability to read the game, his lack of positional discipline coupled with this meant that he was a nightmare for any CB who was paired with him.
He was too small, too error-prone and evidently lacking in talent.
I think the majority of JLT hate isn't necessarily because of the player himself, but more the negligence that he represents. He should have never been first choice for us and yet through our transfer mismanagement, and what must be the worst fitness/medical team in world football we have ended up playing him more than 150 times.

HOWEVER
Like everyone else I enjoyed his crunching tackles, and I think he grew into the role with us a little bit and became a lot stronger in the air.
And as others have already mentioned, he did seem to be one of the only players that didn't visibly shrink in the embarrassment season.

Overall though I'm delighted that he's gone and hopefully it'll be a long while before we ignore a glaring weakness in the team like this again.

IMHO he was never quite good enough at a top level. Not big enough to be a proper dominating CB, not quick enough to make up for that and always a mistake in him.

However that's not 'his fault' and one thing you can say about him is he always gave 100% and played with passion and aggression.

As for being a 'bad apple' that's rumour and most rumours are best ignored. In the end his departure was best for both parties and it will be interesting to see how he does at Brum. There were plenty on here happy to see the back of Moore and he doesn't seem to be doing too bad at Wrexham.

Best moment his header against QPR, preceded by a Cruyff turn that worked in the build up to getting the free kick.

Tried his best. I'd even say that for such a personality, he did well to control his temper as if he'd not done so he'd have cracked some skulls and would be red carded frequently.

Hopefully we can wind in the vitriol now. He's a human being. Any defensive errors now can only be to our benefit from here on in.

Like most polarising discussion points, it’s clearly not as black and white as opposing views claim.

A deeply flawed, yet obviously capable enough player who we signed as back up and ended up contributing a lot over the last 5 years.

He grafted and fought tooth and nail but never should have been a regular in the first team. However rightly or wrongly he deserves some credit for not letting go of the shirt.

His natural cycle with us probably should have ended 12 months ago, and if it were for the Souttar injury he would have been a bit part player last year.

I wasn’t talking about the defence. I was talking about someone who kept on trying when all around had given up… so to me that showed fight/spirit… that’s the accolade!
Fair enough. I'll give him that. He always tried his best. Just not good enough for the level he was playing at.

Someone else mentioned that at least he kept trying when Anel had thrown in the towel, and Souza had resorted to pointing at everyone in a vain attempt to look like he wasn't out of his depth too. Again, I'll give Robinson that.

Im not a nervous person, but I was when he got the ball near him at waist level or below.

Thanks Jack. Go and try hard somewhere else. 👍

I really don't get the hate on this thread. Some of you need to take a long hard look at yourselves. Good luck, Robbo.

I don't hate him. I wish him well. I'm not bothered in the slightest that he's left though.

For me he's one of those limited footballers who try to make up for their limited skillset by being a "gung-ho", "combative", "never-say-die" type of player - a Lee Catermole type of player.

Robbo would never win player of the year, but he tried his best.

Clubman of the Year Award, maybe?

GLTTL, but it's best for all concerned that he leaves.

Hopefully people can stop being so irrational about him now he's gone. It's got pretty ridiculous recently.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Then again, it is the coke fuelled vape snorting alcohol influenced world that gives every 20 something in the ground a perfectly formed opinion of what good looks like out there on the grass !!

Maybe 👀.

Stunned people didn't mind him.

He was a bomb scare. How the hell did you trust him even when he wasn't somehow completely fucking up in a comical way?!
Hmmm.... Strange another (championship )club give him another contract and maybe one more in for him !
Plus who knows how many appearances as a professional footballer....
You'd think clubs would have cottoned on to this perceived ineptitude that Jack appears to display so clearly...
Us fans know better though don't we
(Like fuck 😏).
However, fans are entitled to opinions...I just don't share the barbed negativity towards Robbo....been a bloody good servant and capable defender.

The best player in a defence that conceded 104 goals.

The unwatchables.

Not much of an accolade is it?
It's an accolade that in a team where so many players shrunk, players which are better than him, he stood up, upped his game and performed better than he ever has.

Compare that with the way players like Souza and Anel packed in and gave up.

In fairness to JLT , I blame only Wilder for what I will call "the JLT mystery saga".

And as for facts , there are some which are obvious and incontrovertible.
Haven't we sold him for a fee? So having that option on his contract has made us money.

Going to need to find someone at Birmingham to slip into your conspiracy theory.

I think some people buy into his hard man act I guess as personally I saw right through it and saw how awful he was.

GLTTL. His time had come but he was no way as bad as some make out.

Very limited ability wise. Remember he was signed as a back up squad filler. But ended up playing alot more than he should.

He will go down as this eras Neil Collins.

I think last season with Wilder playing him every week actually really did his relationship with United fans no good but I'm sure that is secondary to wanting to play, obviously. He has divided opinion but I do think as a back up all of our fans thought he was decent but played every week and you start to see the weaknesses more.

All the best though, gave his all and the right time to move on for all concerned.

I've been one of his biggest critics but some of the vitriol is uncalled for. I don't know if he told other players not to come but what I do know is his mother was ill last year. Whether that had an impact on him playing I don't know.

He tried at times when others didn't but for any Birmingham fan reading this he is a defensive bomb scare. A converted full back who still plays like a full back when at CB. I estimate he cost us at least 10 points last season with his mistakes. That would have got us over the line. He's poor in the air but his worst trait is his ability to switch off and not know what is going on around him usually with his back to the opposition. See Millwall' s goal against us this season.

He'll get the crowd going with his blood and thunder tackles but for some unknown reason he's seemed very angry on the pitch so far. He is a limited mid table championship player. He's not a leader as this season so far has shown.

We've got a fee for him so the contract extension paid off in that respect, although the awarding of it seems to have been a mates favour from the previous manager. He was a bargain at £500k plus £250k in add ons bearing in mind the number of appearances he made. The converse of that is our failed transfer policy in not replacing JOC enabled him to have far more games than he should have.

I'm glad he's gone as I wasn't looking forward to watching his failings in a red and white shirt again. I wish him no ill other than he have a mare against us when we play Brum again.

That's a really poor post about a player that has served this club well
