I'm confused, I thought the point you were trying to make was that we shouldn't be taking cast offs of which Rodwell was an example?

No just I don't see them getting anywhere near the first team
It's all cost money that would be better saved or used on bringing people in to challenge our starting 11
We spent enough in the Sumner on players that currently can't break into the team

So is your definition someone taken on a free? Or simply a player that wasn't wanted at his old club?

Our squad is full of players who fit both categories. A couple more cast offs from the top of my head; Jake Wright and Mark Duffy.

Not saying Robinson will turn out for the best, but your snipe that 'taking cast offs has been unsuccessful' is quite frankly bullshit. We've had massively mixed results, but I'm more than prepared to trust Wilder on this.
Spot on House !
Not got many wrong has he !
One sure way of losing Wilder is to lose faith in him having got us into the top 10 in the premiership.
The wage structure means we cant really go for experienced premiership players . He knows what he's doing where's the faith gone ?
Can blame McCabe with his appeal or the prince short of funds but I thought we had faith in Wilder ? maybe not.

Your second point negates your first. Spending lots of money does not guarantee a first 11 player.

No it doesn't...... But we won't be finding these players without spending money
If Morriston or rodwell were any good they would have had clubs queuing up for them

But only time will tell won't it

How much did we spend on Fleck?

So your claim that we won’t be able to find such quality players without spending money doesn’t really add up, does it?

Not now we are playing Premier league football no....... League one yes

Name me 3 players in the premier league that clubs have signed for free from the lower leagues that are currently playing for there clubs

Well Fleck and Stevens are two. McGoldrick was Championship but we got him from Ipswich and they’re now League 1. Jamie Vardy could also have been picked up from non-league fairly cheaply (if not for free) not too long ago. Bournemouth have a few that came up the divisions with them so I assume they didn’t cost much if anything. Will that do?

They came with us from league 1

Vardy.......only liecester would go anywhere near the asking price Fleetwood we're quoting... Most expensive non league player ever

Clubs in this league tend to taje the best younger players from the lower leagues and either loan them back or send them out on loan to the league above

Plus I'm referring to players that are free and gone into premier league teams

You never mentioned Robinson until it was everywhere.

I didnt know we were signing him where have you read id quoted that we're were signing him

The only thing I've posted about this window is that we would only be signing free and loans this window unless we move players or sell

Plus I was told the lad from nice should have been done this week which I'm wrong about

I know they did. What’s your point? Are you suggesting that if we happened to sign them now they wouldn’t have the same abilities? Just because we’re signing them as a Premiership team? They’re either good enough or they aren’t.

Only Leicester would go near Fleetwood’s asking price. Yes, all the other clubs thought that spending millions more would get you a better player. So far most of them have been very wrong.

Your final paragraph is slightly irrelevant but actually adds weight to my argument, not yours.

I’ll repeat what I said a little while ago when people on here were desperate for us to spend millions on Martyn Waghorn and were slagging the club off when we signed McGoldrick on a free instead. You don’t have to spend money on a player for him to be good enough. Granted, it often helps, but spending millions does not guarantee quality and spending nothing doesn’t mean that player won’t be exactly what we need. I’d have thought that some of our fans would have come to that realisation by now. Comments like ‘but now we’re in the Premier League’ are irrelevant. Football is the same throughout.

We need a back up left sided centre half. We aren’t signing anyone near JoC quality. But we need better than Kean Bryan.

So we sign a championship standard centre back who can play left back. This means he has the capability to shine in our squad and potentially has some skills that CW can see that will make him develop into a good player for us.

So you can tell us what’s happening next week. Also seems very unlikely Robinson would be a free.

But if waghorn had signed for us that he wouldn't have been a better player for it

Look at kloop at Liverpool he buys very good players and makes them better

Chris wilder does the same

Plus if we sign players for free now they wouldn't be given the time fleck and stevens have had... So would have to be outstanding from the word go

when is he signing then

Hopefully the lad from nice will sign I'm guessing if it's not sorted next week it won't happen
When I'm back to work Tuesday I'll ask if anything else is happening and pass it on lije I've done with all the information I've received

To be fair, this signing doesnt really get the excitement levels up much . No matter what the argument

I'm guess he never plays for us which seems a waste of what every money its costing...... Unless Chris is selling and needs someone fast

Maybe he will get a start ne t week in the cup thinking about it

Waghorn being a better player under Wilder is irrelevant. The point is that Waghorn cost Derby £5m+ and was significantly worse than McGoldrick who cost us nothing. The reason being that McGoldrick is a better player and he just happened to be exactly what we needed.

Either way, like I said, you don’t have to spend money on a player for him to be good enough.
