What's slightly baffling is all the way through this there's been virtually no communication from the club on what the situation is. Usually when players are out fans have an idea about what's going on but not in JOCs.case at any point.

Is the radio silence an indication that there is some potential legal action as mentioned earlier in the thread ?

Maybe the radio silence has less to do with legal action (hopefully) and more to do with the fact it is a very long-term injury (hopefully not).

hate to jump to conclusions but he’s been out nearly a year by the times restart and sounds like he’s nowhere near. Could this be the end of the jack we know?

It reminds me a little bit of the end of Kabba when he returned half the player he was before, i think he unfortunately broke his leg in his first game back.

That in all likelihood is that then. A crying shame my favourite centreback watching the blades. I genuinely believe he was destined to play for England and have an excellent career. I hope the club does right by him because he did right by us.

First and foremost - gutted for JOC. Consumate professional and has been a joy to watch in the red & white.

Secondary, replacing someone of JOCs quality shall be incredibly tough within our financial boundaries. It's a challenge SJ probably didn't want.

Whilst I appreciate the general concern he isn’t written off yet. I recall that PH had already said he would be unlikely to be ready for pre season training.
Clearly we need cover, but at this level I think Robinson will be more than adequate

If any of our players have a chance of coming back from such a lay off then it’s probably JOC. Looks after himself in the right way and isn’t reliant on blistering pace by any stretch. Wouldn’t want to write him off just yet.

I agree, the one thing I would argue is I’m not sure we can find cover. A LCB that overlaps is few & far between.

I also think JOC, Duffy & Basham were the main reason we went to 3-5-2 now with only one of those three left is is it time we look to change?

It would mean signing 2/3 wingers but we probably have adequate for for a midfield 2 with Berge, Fleck, Norwood, Slater & Brunt
