If you actually watch him play you’ll see he’s a very very good striker and most of the derby fans are bewilded he doesn’t start every match .

We've done OK on it last 3 seasons to be fair?

The majority of our match day squad came from the Championship or higher last season.

Same with the League One title winning season, we didn’t sign many from League Two.

Presumably CW would have the same thoughts, bit expensive for a player stepping up a level.

I think we're all agreed that it's essential we bring in two strikers and that , ideally , they would be Maupay and McBurnie .

I have a strong feeling that the former is not going to be achievable for a number of reasons and , if that is the case , the next best option in my view is Jack Marriott .

I like this lad and his record of 73 goals in the last 3 seasons speaks for itself . A number of aspects of his game remind me of Billy and there can be no higher compliment than that . The way he took his goal against us at Derby was sublime and executed in a manner which even strikers of the very highest quality would have been proud of .

Add to the above the fact that at 24 there should be more to come from him and you have all the reasons you need to believe that he could be an excellent signing .

I certainly do .

With our style we never fail to make chances but in the Premiership I'd like another striker that can either score from nothing or create his own chances.
Che and Maupay can do that. Marriott is a finisher which every club needs but we have our fox in the box in Billy.

What’s not to like about analytics - you only have to use it to try and narrow your search, imo you can still use it to check the players pass the eye test and meet your criteria personality wise
