He will either get another loan move abroad to a club nobody has heard of or it wouldn't be the biggest surprise if they mutally agreed to rip his contract up so he can move permanently. I don't see him being at the club come the end of the window, all the talk of second chances is just an effort to keep him onside.

I'm opting to be open-minded. See how he gets on in pre-season; if it doesn't work out, Selles has learned something about his squad without risking a competitive fixture to do so.

He got match time last pre-season, and made a complete mess of defending his goal against Harrogate(?). Rightfully then got shipped out on loan after playing against Hollywood FC in the cup.

I saw in that Star article that he'd suffered a serious head injury. Wasn't aware of that before, and I'm pleased that he has been able to recover from it.

Let's be honest we've persisted with some right shit down the years.

I think back to the league 1 era and our persistence with non footballers Monty Doyle Collins Mceverley etc but keepers tend to be given the elbow pretty quick if they're shit.

Derek Richardson was a nervous wreck when that lot put 4 past us in 79. Mark Bunn developed the art of being rooted to the goal line watching shots trickle into the net. Simmonsen just turned to jelly when a cross came into the box and was crap at penalties. George Long hugged his goal line and didn't know whether to come or go when the opposition was bearing down on goal.

We've had some bad ones over the years in goal but Gribic displays all of the above. He has shown no semblance of goalkeeping skill whatsoever in his short time with us culminating in numerous basic mistakes such as slow to get down to shots and failing to cover his goal when facing onrushing forwards.

Unless the goalkeeping coach at the last club he was on loan at is a genius and has turned Gribic into a top level championship goalkeeper I cant see any reason for him to be considered for selection and strenuous efforts should be made to move him on.

Now I've written that he'll play a blinder against York tonight. Not holding my breath though.
