Release the dross & get in some players who will get us out of this division.

Charlton cleared the decks at the end of last season & they finished as Champions.

Do Wilson & McCabe have the balls to do this?

Unfortunately bringing in players is not one of Danny's strengths

Sure they can clear the decks they are good at letting players go, their problem is getting the quality ones in.

MacDonald, Flynn, LJF are good footballers.

Howard looks decent but we won't know until next season. No one expected Beattie to be that shit, I'm sure they didn't plan on Hoskins' hernia to get that bad and O'Halloran was on his first loan spell so no one knew how he'd settle in.

I'll give you Williams and Hill both NGE but all we could afford at the time.

Flynn - very good signing?? No pace, can't cross, no end product - not my idea of a good winger.

Flynn - uses the ball intelligently, can cross a ball, passes to his own players and works hard.

I think what has gone against Flynn is that many times he's been used to protect the full back rather than influence things further up the field.

But he's a winger for goodness sake and hasn't gone past a full back since the day he came to the club!

I could reel off many wingers who don't go past full backs.

Im not saying he's a world beater but what I am saying is that he cant be classed as a bad signing. No way.

Fynn, Lescinel, MacDonald - all very good DW signings. As well as Phillips and Clarke on loan.

Bit harsh to cite Hoskins as a bad signing, injury not to blame on DW.

DW somehow managed to get Collins and Doyle playing well as well.
wilson was the only manager to get the best out of ched as well

wilson will only be able to spend what Mccabe gives/tells him which if the past couple of season are owt to go by,will be not a lot

He was injured when he was loaned in by Wilson when we needed a constant goalscorer to replace Ched; to me that is the definition of a bad signing.

Well surely this should have been picked up by the medical staff during his medical. Wilson's job as manager is to identify targets, Hoskins could have been a good player for us. It isn't DW's job to make sure he's fit when we sign him. That's why they have medicals with professional physios and medical staff before they sign.

Hoskins can't have been that injured if he passed a medical, and made several sub appearances.

Scored against Wycombe and Colchester and started games on the left wing due to Evans' form.

Hoskins' hernia then appeared at the worst possible time, if it wasn't for that he would have been the replacement for Evans - and then maybe it would have been 2nd spot and he would have been hailed as a DW masterstroke.

Whatever McCabe gives Wilson it wont be much and the outgoings HAVE to be much bigger than the ones coming in. That's not McCabes doing but the FIFA directive.

Im struggling with fans knocking wilsons signings this past season or what he got out of the existing dross. I suppose if you have an agenda you can say he should have replaced Evans. But sense argues that with both BT and hoskins he had backup. BT was a cock and Hoskins a crock.

All managers have failures when they deal and to he fair his failure rate is small. You can argue over a couple but in the main he has dealt well and addressed most issues on a shoestring. Surely the perfect man for next season.

FWIW i think we will have to strip almost the entire team out unless they will take huge wage cuts. I have faith Wilson is the right man to do this in the right way, playing in the right style. Its going to be bloody tough but lets get behind him for the full season this time.

UTB FTP.

did he not play in the championship under different managers ? and was he shite ? hence wilson got him playing like a striker, whether league 1 or championship

I'm not denying that Wilson got him playing better than a host of managers before him, but that it was against teams in a division lower.

Wilson got the shite we have playing so he can do it again with new players as well

IN DANNY WE TRUST

The biggest challenge in front of Wilson is getting a striker in that can score 20 goals. I stand by my suggestion of the Yeovil lad Williams, scored 16 in the league this season in a team that finished 17th.

Show him the bright lights of Sheffield and the facilities at Shirecliffe/TheLane and he'd jump at the chance.

Unfair. Flynn beat a man during Saturday's final. My Father took special note of this because he's seen every game Flynn has played this season and that is the only time he can recall Flynn beating a man!

(it should also be noted that there was a near miss at Rochdale when Flynn almost beat a man but inexplicably checked his run and came back the same way...)

he did something very similar at Walsall, right in front of me...

Can see Flynn replacing Monty as the permanent scape goat. The same as Bobby Ford was before that, and Devlin to an extent

Flynn is a right winger, he doesn't have the strength at this moment to trick a man and get a ball in with his left peg. If Williamson doesn't sign I think we should give Flynn a run at right wing and see what he does before we start chucking eggs at him. He filled in and did a good job for me on the left but he shouldn't stay there.

Nah, I genuinely think Flynn has too much to offer to become that. He can cross a great ball, works like stink, and has shown he can score decent goals too.

My money's on Williams. :)

I doubt we will see much more of Williams. I think the tea lady would have got in before Williams towards the end of the season, if she was a little quicker on the turn
