Old big nose was and still is right.
We're miles off it attitude wise.
Charlton were first to every 50/50 whether getting there first to headed clearances from both defences or to loose balls in the middle of the pitch.
Attitude has to change or we go down. Simple as that.
These players aren't working hard and aren't working smart either.
Turning this around is a very big job for Wilder and co, or anyone else for that matter.
Hope Wilder can do it for us, but these players need to stop moping about losing a playoff final, and get back to doing the hard work.

And what would you say to half the players who played today that weren't at the club at Wembley? Ignoring the likes of Seriki who played basically no minutes at the time?

A team that can’t score goals will go down. This team does not look like it’s going to score any time soon.
Hopefully Wilder can turn it around because I lived this before and it didn’t end well.

Wilder ought to have them training under lights at Shirecliffe now in the pissing down rain, spoil their effin weekend like they have done for 30,000 fans.
They’ll be on Eccy Road now with some dizzy bint or bints hanging off them.

Ohhh I’m a pro footballer.

Not this fucking season you haven’t

It will mean more to us than them

Wilder says they’re a bit fragile at the moment. Bless. I really enjoyed Maresca’s response this week to Raheem Sterling’s unhappiness at not being named in Chelsea’s squad. He explained that his father spent 40 years as a fisherman working from 2am to 10am for not much money and that if your life is as hard as that maybe you can feel a bit sorry for yourself, but you can’t really as a very highly paid professional footballer. They need to cultivate some spines and start earning their wages.

I'm surprised Wilder was so soft/passive in his comments.
I was expecting him to come out with thunder after another abject performance and state that the squad will be training tomorrow as they don't deserve a day off right now.

There’s lots wrong at the club that’s been left unchecked for years…

Off top of my head

Fitnesss and conditioning has been a problem for years.

Transfers have been a problem for years … particularly taking too long or no forward planning.

Lack of real communication to the fans

No accountability

No real identity on the way we play

It’s not just happening over night the rot set in ages ago

But if our players die for 3 points, and the opposition players die for 3 points, there will be other variables deciding how the game ends.
"If" maybe, Bergs but we aren't coming close to wanting it as much as the opposition are this season. We're not winning our individual battles across the pitch..midfield and both flanks..
We have to address that and quickly for me.

And I would like to add that for all the good wilders done … he’s one of the worst culprits for not saying it how it is anymore like he used to

Fucking agree with you. Me and the Mrs drove over 100 miles, shelled out over £100 for the day out and got piss wet in the process.

I am not entitled enough to think we should win every game, but at least put some fucking. Effort in so I can walk away proud. I actually feel embarrassed to bring my Mrs there at times lately. Tell her how great we are and then she sees that 😂

They will fuck off quicker than a rat up a drainpipe when we go down. I really cannot abide this side at the moment. Will be in their Audi’s and BMW’s after the game whilst us stupid fuckers get wetter than an otters pocket shuffling home in the pissing down rain. Wankers.

On one hand, yes, I agree that being a professional footballer would be a much better job than about 99% of other jobs out there. Moaning about it is quite out of touch, especially when billions of people around the globe would switch places with them in an instant.

But one thing that I think is important to remember is that many of these people's self worth is tied down to their talent and skill as a footballer. Numerous footballers (think Dele Alli, Danny Rose, Michael Carrick) have spoken about their mental health difficulties, how it impacted their drive to get up in the morning etc. It's not always as simple as 'grow a spine' because the sole reason they're famous, the sole reason they have lots of money, the sole reason they can provide for their family, is because they're good at football. At the very least, being left out the squad and disregarded would be very tough to take for most people. Unfortunately for some, it leads them to having depression or suicidal thoughts. In the case of Chelsea and Maresca specifically, they gave Sterling and Disasi large contracts, then try and hound them out when they fall out of the squad instead of paying them out, just so they can save some money. Chelsea don't come out of the situation looking great in my book.

With regards to our current squad, it seems we're in desperate need of a leader. There's a broader mentality problem at the club that allows players to think it's okay to give up and to not apply themselves. A good leader could change that losing culture, and build something where the players work for each other with the broader, common goal of winning. I don't know how many leaders we have in our current squad right now, but this would be a great time for them to show up.
