Clean through, about to shoot and tripped from behind.

I am just glad he didn't try to even things up with a ridiculous red card or two for us second half.

Yes, that was always a posibility, I think it was on the minds of a few of our players second half when they didn't throw themselves into the a few 50/50 challenges they could have done.

I blame their second sending off firmly on Shrews' manager. Their guy was obviously out of control for at least 15 minutes before he was sent off and their manager should have either told him to cool it or subbed him. A good ref. would have warned him, but Deadman isn't a good ref.
Why should a referee have to warn somebody that if they don't calm down they are off? Personally I think it's down to the player or management..if it's a yellow or red card so be it.. don't give them a warning.. they know what they have done.. sod em...... - unless it's a friendly!! ;-)

He should have had a yellow for ungentlemanly conduct ,when he got in Sharps face on the penalty. 2 more stonewall penalties missed ,if he moved about a bit more he might see them ,but the linesman had a perfect view in front of me.

it was funny when their fans started chanting 'you're not fit to referee' .. and the kop joined in!

First sending off was a joke, the rules have changed and the kid slid in to win the ball. Deadman obviously doesn't know the rules and how he didn't see the shove on Sharp, the 30 seconds shirt pull on Bash and the blatant handball is beyond belief.

He is the refereeing version of Donald Trump.

I think that's why their number nine didn't come out for the second half, because he was a dead cert to be number three to see red.

Shame really, he was like a ticking bomb ;)

Be interesting to see what the red was for, watching the highlights it could have been for dissent as he wasn't happy when the pen was given and said something to Deadman. With DOGSO, it is still a red if there wasn't a genuine attempt to play the ball

Was beginning to think I had dreamed that blatant shove in the box. The most nailed on penalty in living history and the officials chose to miss it.

I think the first may have been for foul and abusive language. Deadman didn't seem to be going for a card. The Shrews player has a go and then Deadman whipped it out ( his card).

Had a spell in the 2nd half where he made 3 ridiculous decisions in quick succession. The stonewall pen for the 2 handed shove not given sandwiched by 2 clear corners where he gave goalkicks instead. Those decisions were comically bad.

Shrews might feel the first sending off was harsh too but there was a good sight of goal so can understand why he sent him off.

He was right on the second sending off though.

He was correct for both. Second one was clearly dangerous play. First one a tackle from behind that brought the player down in the box. That's a penalty (obviously). What's maybe not so obvious to some is the rule about "last man"? If the offending player was the last man between the player and the goalkeeper when the foul is committed it is a sending off offence.

Deadman = Dead right on this occasion.

The 1st red's been overturned so it was originally for DOGSO rather than anything he said. Without going into full detail of the law change, if it's a genuine attempt to play the ball with a tackle inside the area it's only a yellow & penalty now
