ITS NOT THE FUCKING STRIKERS

Fuck fucking me. Fuck a duck. Or just plainly
‘Faaaaaack’.

After every game like this one or both of the strikers get slaughtered.

Are we not, even slightly, getting through to the whole fanbase at this point that it is NOT the strikers fault?
Today we’ve given both McBurnie and Sharp scraps if you’re being kind, fuck all if you’re not, and still there’s a thread slagging Oli off 😂

Put plainly - Robert Lewandowski will miss more chances in a season than our whole strike force put together. And he’s the best on the planet. This is testament to how much we expect + how little we create.

I’ve staunchly defended McBurnie, and I still make no apologies for that. We signed the pound for pound best striker in the championship who just scored 24 goals and used him as some sort of targetman for our bypassing of the midfield, long ball, Pulis tactics. Even last season. Still, he scored most of the chances he got last season and imo hasn’t had any chances this season really.
Sharp’s scored a few, missed a few of the ‘chances’ he’s had.
Moose scores most of the chances he gets and his good bit of play is the only time we looked truly convincing as an attacking with this formation.
Burke has missed a couple but he ain’t a striker. McGoldrick missed a freaky amount of sitters last season that he has made up for this.
Did Robinson even have any chances to miss?
Same goes for Brewster.

You can blame the strikers if you want. It’s a good deflection to our reality. A cheap, easy snipe. But you’re so fucking wrong it’s untrue.

We scored the least goals of anyone outside the bottom 3 last season, we have scored the least goals in the Prem by a way this season. It’s easy to look at the strikers and think it should be on them. But how can you watch that today and genuinely in your heart think either of the strikers on the pitch are to blame?

It’s the shape, it’s the midfield, it’s the wing backs, it’s the tactics, it’s the manager. Take your pick. But it isn’t the strikers. Aside from about 4/5 games over the past season and half they’ve been the most isolated strike pairing of the Premier League era. And it doesn’t matter who we pick. It’s the infamous ‘system’ that leaves us to play this way.
It’s all of the players. None of them are PL quality this season. And that includes McBurnie whether you like it or not.

Point proved. Dad tell him to stop bad mouthing Oli, he wears all the latest gear and talks like a gangster.
Here we go. Nail on the head son. Another classic Blade here unfortunately

When mcburnie scores in 2 consecutive matches, he'll be heralded as the new Deano.

It's all just so tiring

Agreed, it’s not just the strikers. But - unless it’s some bizarre instruction from the coaching team - those that are picked need to do a lot more than stand offside waiting for service that won’t come.

You are partly right in that strikers can't finish chances that they aren't being given.
However, there have been several matches where our strikers (and other players) haven't taken their chances that if they had, would have given us far more points than we currently have.

1. Leeds at home, Lunny and Baldock missed glorious chances at 0-0.
2. Fulham at home where Oli missed 2 glorious chances at 0-0.
3. West Brom away, all our Strikers Burke, McBurnie, Mousett missed sitters.
4. Brighton away, Burke misses a sitter when 1-0 up.
5. West Ham at home Oli hits the bar when clean through when 1-0 down.
6. Chelsea at home, Burke misses a glorious chance at 0-0.
7. Yesterday against Fulham, Billy misses a glorious chance so does Stevens.

Yeah but you’re expecting players to take every chance they’ve got, that’s not going to happen.
We do not create enough chances, it’s as simple as that. We aren’t attacking enough, we are mind numbingly boring.

im sorry but it is the strikers

our conversion of chances is the worst in prem history
our display at west brom , 26 attempts and15 on target but 0 goals says everything about where we are

Totally agree, we create absolutely nothing, we’ve got nobody who can create something out of nothing.
Pains me to say it but when you watch Leeds there full of energy and create chance after chance.

So you’re singing out one game against the other worst team in the division, where our best chances fell to a right back?

Can you name me some more?

Reminds me of the time we went to West Brom, had 25ish shots on target, lost 1-0 and people blamed the goalkeeper.

OK, but to play devil's advocate for a moment, their 'keeper kept a clean sheet despite facing about the same amount of shots on target as Ramsdale. It could be the strikers not scoring, yes, but it could also have been their goalkeeper doing a better job.

It could have been, except I saw the goal WBA scored

It’s because the manager has our strikers playing triangles with our defenders to overwhelm the corner flags. Forget all that modern attacking football sh!te

He scored 25 goals in a season for the side who finished 10th in the division.
Also gave our current best back 5 the runaround in that same season at the Liberty.

But apparently he’s not good 😂😂🙃
Big difference between Premiership and Championship
The only thing I’ll say on this is he isn’t even good playing for Scotland.

One thing I noticed that told me he is rubbish is when in the 2nd half when we were given offside.
The ball was coming in from the left. In the box you had both Sharp and McBurnie in a offside position. You can forgive Sharp not knowing he’s offside as he is going to see the ball come across first but McBurnie could easily see they were both offside. He just showed not positional awareness.

100% spot on.
Prime example yesterday's match 1st half we had created naff all, then in the final minute we finally put together a few passes in the corner near their box and what do we go all the way back to our defenders in our half.
Even when we do have the balls too try and get the ball in the box we struggle to beat the 1st man with the cross.
Check out the videos of McBurnie and Brewster's goals and play for Swansea we are not playing to their strengths.
I know its in the Championship but we simply don't have anyone who can drive forward from midfield.l, all our build up play is so slow. How many times do we brake up an opposition attack move forward stop double back and pass it backwards giving the opposition time to get back behind the ball.
Fleck, Lundstram, Norwood are simply not Premiership quality, Berge could be with better players around him.
Prime example was Lingard for West Ham who destroyed us, we simply Don't have anyone in our squad who could do that.

Rinse and repeat.
McGoldrick and McBurnie both missed a good chance yesterday, the usual suspects were at it again.

To quote JJBlade - "You can't continually blame forwards who miss the one chance created for them every fourth week, all strikers miss more chances than they score."

The best in the world don't score every chance they get, and we're expecting our mob to do it? It's fucking ridiculous.

Yeah rinse and repeat, one day the penny will drop.

We have 1 goal from our midfielders this season and that was from Berge.
Bogle also scored when we went down to 10 men and he was pushed into midfield. Somebody needs to tell the rest of them they are allowed to support the attack.

Bogle is our biggest goal threat in some games. It’s astounding

While we persevere with slow predictable football, none of our strikers will get more than 1 chance a game. We need to be quicker, we need runners from midfield to create space. I remember on a game last season, shown on Danish tv, we had 9 players in and around the opposition penalty box. The commentators were shocked and when we lost the ball everyone was back in place within seconds. This season I don’t think I have seen more than 3 of our players in the box at any point.
We also have a history of buying strikers and then playing a style which is totally alien to their strengths and then wondering why they aren’t scoring

McBurnie doesn’t score any chance he gets. His chance conversion numbers are woeful.
