Sadly, you'll likely be wrong, because another season in league one was the only chance that some might get retained...ever wondered why they haven't tried this season?

Square pegs in round holes. Weak players, slow players, unfit players. The basic requirement in this league is physicality, mobility and endeavour. Too few players have even those basic attributes.

Time to wield the axe.

Exactly and Adkins can offload most of them now.

All optimism that we will clear the decks of these wankers. It'll not happen.
Majority will be offered new deals and we will be here next season asking the same old question of where it all went wrong.

It will come down to money, we don't have any... We will sell again most likely Adams and or Brayford...

We don't build, so we deconstruct and fail..wank chairman, wank team..

Look over the road at the pigs...

If there is one good thing to come of today it's that Adkins no longer has any hint of an excuse not to get rid of nearly all of those out of contract. Hopefully Sunjihi's right though and he won't be here to decide that anyway.

After listening to and reading what McCabe said at the forum then it seems we are going to be even worse next season. The only hope we have is blind hope. What a terrible mess has been made of this club.

BBC reporting that Burton are now almost certainly promoted. To quote 'Well done Nigel Clough'. Of course we know better - that's all down to JFH. And of course our season under Adkins is all down to the mess Clough left us in. Just another piece of bad luck that we can add to the list.

We need the following:-

Left back
2 Centre halves
2 centre midfielders
At least one winger
Back up striker

I'd almost agree mate, except to add that the forward should be proven at this level, mobile, built for battle, and if there's the equivalent of Callum Wilson out there at this level, then buy the fucker.

For all the forelock-tugging "Mester McCabe" apologists who insist he's done a great job for Sheffield United, I'd like to know just how far we have to fall before they accept the reality of the net sum of his achievements since his arrival on the Board, and his Machiavellian rise to the position of ownership and having the club's balls in the grip of his ever-tightening hand?

"Game Changing Investment" ???

Hey everybody, wake up! I can see the Emperor's Arse!

Think Sharp and Adams will be OK with a decent midfield behind them. Let's face it the current midfield moves up the pitch at the pace of a giant tortoise, with a bit more mobility and service I think we can score goals.

If the likes of mceverly and Flynn are retained I'll be fuming.

When is the retained list likely to be announced?

I can't understand anyone who argues we've been better off with him. Look where we were and where we are now, simples, if he was a manager he'd have been sacked a long long time ago. If he's really holding out for £60million then we are in trouble because he'll be taking us lower than we are now over the next few years. Time for the buck to stop with him now, not the endless list of managers he's appointed.

Possibly Rodley, but we need more than two proven options, and as much as I can see the potential in Adams, he's still naive at times and needs to learn how to be effective. Another decent forward would, I hope, provide the mobility we've lacked. At times we're predictable.....but your point about the midfield is a valid one and needs addressing too. I'd like guile as well as someone who's willing to bite and niggle, to use dressing room parlance.

Well at least we both agree we need major surgery!

Don't think it is 60 million mate, I think he would accept 30 million, but who is going to pay that for us? Mr Tuna paid that for Wendy, who were already in the Championship and with a handful of decent players.

Indeed, I hope you are correct.

Thanks but no thanks anymore to what can only be described as very average players for L1

Adkins will be judged by how many are released/retained and for me these two are definitely on the released list - can't really fault the effort or attitude but they just aren't good enough.

UTB

Whichever the figure is it needs a zero taking of it!

This could have been dated April 2015 !

And just who has improved this season under Adkins, with the single exception perhaps of Long?
