Just got in from a top day out. The first time this season on the road that I have come home feeling happy with our performance on a whole for the full 90 minutes despite the fact we only got a draw and it's not down to the fact we were playing 2nd in the league, it's simply down to how we played football.

The title "It's back ya know" refers simply to the confidence and belief that the players appear to have again after searching for it for the best part of 3 months. The sheer composure of some players today and the overall confidence to take time on the ball when needed and to use the possession wisely and pick out the right pass was the main difference between now and pre Clough.

I find it hard to single out individual performances today because overall it was just a very good, solid and professional team performance. We went into the game and pretty much strangled it and tried to make it our own game. We upset Orients rhythm and controlled the tempo and we would have come away with all three points had it not been for nothing less than a quality equalizer.

Don't get me wrong Orient weren't no mugs and got through and got a few away but the back four were probably the most solid I have seen them play this season and when Orient got past them George Long was a different class in between the sticks, possibly the one of if not the best I have seen him play based on a couple of his stops.

I will be honest with you I got myself in position for the kick off and thought f**k me, what is he starting Porter and Baxter up front for? And where is Miller or at least Taylor! but credit where credit is due, those two hit it off well today and had a very experienced understanding which helped us to control the game. Porter made the goal and overall put in another top notch shift and was a very close runner for MOTM for me. All those knockers and yet at the minute for me he is head and shoulders our best player.

The close runner for MOTM alongside Porter has to be McGinn. What a breath of fresh air this lad is proving to be at the minute, ok he isn't consistent but when on form he is of real quality. He gave us that McDonald like player in midfield today, his distribution was good and his attacking mentality helped us to get forward and put some real pressure on Orient. He had a great game.

Coady and White had a decent game as well when you consider positions etc, they put in the leg work and they did push forward into some pretty decent attacking positions. Coady also popped up to put us in front as well which was more than deserved both for the player and for the team.

That team today were a pleasure to watch because despite what has gone and everything that has been against us they have the right mentality today aided by another unspectacular but very well thought out game plan from the gaffer. I now thoroughly understand what he is trying to do and this remains the same home or away. He isn't trying to over-complicate anything but instead just wants us to do the basics but at the same time look to create the chances where possible to win games.

Well done Clough and his backroom staff and thank you for applying the basics and steadying the ship. You have brought back a standard of football that we are all happy enough to watch. But also a massive well done to the whole team today for the composure and professionalism shown and the overall effort put in as a whole team that nearly brought 3 points away from the currently 2nd in he league team at a ground that is a tough place to go at the minute.

Don't get me wrong, for anyone who didn't go today this performance doesn't suggest the corners are turned and from this day on we aren't going to romp our way up the league however it does show that things are settling down again and that the confidence is coming back that has been absent for some long this season. The approach and the effort shown today will win us a few points should we keep it up. Let this go on until January and then we can look at possibly adding that goalscorer to push us on to that next level, until the I am currently happy enough.

If you didn't go today then you missed a great game and a great atmosphere. We were fine fine travelling spirit and the performance of the team boosted this. A thoroughly enjoyable game of football and I haven't said that for a while.

Bloody hell just scrolled up and seen the massive essay which I apologize for but that just shows how much I have enjoyed today. Brilliant stuff will sleep well tonight.

All well and good but 2 of the players you mention, (coady and white) could be offski in a few weeks when their loans are up...

White has had a slow start here, however improved as the game progressed on Tuesday and I would rather keep him than Lappin personally. I think we are looking to buy White in January.

I doubt Coady leaves unless a championship club want to take on his loan which I doubt at this point. I would like Nige to sort that loan out now though just in case

Credit has got to go to the manager unlike Weir he takes every game individually.
He seems to be getting it right quicker than any of us thought because make no mistake we would have been relegated under Weir.
I think Clough has shown how important man management and disapline are and not just tactics and formations.

nice report, its all we could hope for, Clough took over a team bereft of self belief, was going to take time to get them gelling as a unit as theyd forgotten how to, patience was needed to allow the guy to re boot the programme and get the system back to full capacity

saw the goal this morning. A great pass from Porter and a good finish. I may have been a bit too critical of Coady

Can only apologize for the essay but United gave me a real "feel good" feeling yesterday. After a bit of a rough season it was the first game in a while that I personal felt we did almost everything right from the off to the final whistle.

I don't know who behind the scenes has been doing the leg work on scouting opposition and setting us up in games but they are doing it all right based on yesterday. I don't think they expected us to come and stifle them in the way we did, I think they expected us to go down there and sit back and soak up the pressure but we gave as good as we got and I really think we got under their skin and upset any rhythm they had.

Like you said, really good day out and a performance which against a lot of sides in this league would of resulted in a win. I was worried early on with Batt's pace but the defence dealt with it well. Good atmosphere, from us at least, and a good point. Thought Murphy was great coming off the bench!
