Nah I don't think he would like that.
Can I ask why people wanted to keep Adkins, what was there to build on?
Yes,sunjihi will know, come on mate, put this one to bed pleaseQuite a few people have mentioned that there was a non play off clause in his contract. There must be or we will be shelling out at least 1m on Adkins leaving and compo for wilder and his team. We will have to wait till the books are out next year unless our mate Sunjihi fills in the blanks in the meantime.

When was the last time we hired a a manager who was still In a job?
Precisely. It was a good move and is becoming more and more commonIs this the fabled clause?
Just so we are all in agreement?? Is there anyone who wants a new manager to fail? We very well may not agree with a sacking but when the new man comes in I am 100% sure that we all want the new man to succeed, even if we have doubts about his potential to succeed surly no one want the frustrated satisfaction of "I told you so" upon his failure.
Point taken, mate but it would be nice.Do we get that info after any sacking?
^^^^^^ this ^^^^^^My personal view:
McCabe - don't dislike the bloke, can't fault him for putting money in. But on the flip side he doesn't seem to have a clue about running a football club.
Adkins - would have kept him, think he would have got it right eventually and we would have seen that next season with a lot of Clough's crap gone and his own players in but never know now.
Wilder - not against him getting the job, had Adkins quit then I would have been 100% behind getting him. I just didn't think it was a good idea to blow millions on getting rid of Adkins, his coaches and paying Northampton compensation. With that expenditure I would want someone like Simon Grayson (obviously unrealistic) who would be more of a sure thing at league one level. I just don't really see Wilder as much, if any of an improvement on Adkins. But he's manager now and I'm 100% behind him.

I agree. Like the non footballing reasons.Point taken, mate but it would be nice.
I don't know how anyone can prove this mate. He's clueless when it comes to football but obviously has good business sense which sort of tells you it's own story and what he concentrates on more.I know I'm in a small minority but I actually like and respect McCabe. We'd have many more problems than a 6th season in the 3rd division without him
To
-Dislike Mcabe
-Agree that Adkins needed to go
- And think that Wilder is a good appointment
Each on their own merit - what we appear to have again is those who wanted Adkins to stay not liking Wilder appointment.
The logic of some on here appears to be defend Adkins cos Mcabe sacked him and Wilder is a cheap Bladey Blade appointment.

I think Wilder's a good appointment. Good record working with little, like his style of play and he's clearly got a decent eye for a player. Seems extremely pragmatic as well. However, not convinced he can be as successful at a higher level.
If Adkins was sacked on purely footballing reasons then I think it's a ridiculous decision. If it was for other reasons then fine
As for our smug and 'unlucky' co-owner, I think he's a tit. Two-faced and constantly says one thing then does another.
My guess is that without his money we'd be playing in a three sided ground in the National Leagues. Our lowest league finish in God knows how long. We're further down the leagues than when he came in. Your argument is purely guess work, it could be countered by saying we could be in the champions league without him. The facts show that this football club is in a worse position now than when he took charge.
You can fuck right off. I'm not giving you 'two likes'.I thought Adkins was a superb appointment but having very quickly realised that he was never going to get the backing that Clough enjoyed and squandered I expected it to be a struggle for him and so it proved. Adkins made some big mistakes and in the end can't have too many complaints on losing his job. That said he was just the latest in a long line of scapegoats for the failings of Kevin McCabe who I think is behind everything that is wrong at Bramall Lane, the one constant in our decline since 2007.
Chris Wilder a leap into the unknown maybe he is the next Warnock and will take the club by the scruff and sort it out or maybe he will be the next Mickey Adams who can't handle the pressure and difficulties of managing a club of this size. One thing is for sure when the season starts every Blade will wish him the best and hope he succeeds. No one wants him to become the next McCabe scapegoat but I just cannot see him being backed with anything more than a shoestring lets hope he has the luck that McCabe says is all that is missing because I cannot for the life of me see where just adding half a team from that academy U21's will cut it in a promotion push.
'.... not convinced he can be as successful at a higher level'
Wonder if Bournemouth fans felt the same way about Eddie Howe.
