Just had a look at the forecast for the weekend and it is expected to be cold and wet in Peterborough on Saturday afternoon.

Temperatures tonight and Friday just above freezing.

Ouch. Expensive business that.

I think certain powders knacker the down. You're supposed to rinse the machine whilst empty, then wash using a specific detergent and tumble dry straight away with a tennis ball in there to help knock it about a bit.

I know this because my Rab is about to leave the house of its own accord....
