Yes the board could act quicker on this appointment and I'd agree this doesn't feel in the best interest of the club in the short term, but to suggest you aren't well enough informed is nonsense.

How many other clubs advise about who they are approaching, times frames, targets etc. Are you wanting names and dates? There are legalities, contracts, work permits etc.

Literally no club ever announces details of recruitment before thing are agreed.

We know theres a shortlist of 5 and that the current internal candidate is on that list. That's as much as we're going to know until it's confirmed.

Not sure what the panic is to name a new boss......imagine if Higgy had managed to win a couple of games at the beginning of his tenure and the supporters clamoured for him to be appointed (i know, very unlikely!) but we need to take our time - having said that, now Mourinho is out of the equation and the list is shortened by one, it shouldn't take them too long now!

The biggest problem is we are operating in an information void. As well as being a top manager Wilder was the link between the club and fans. He was one of us and we trusted him.

Now it's starting to feel a lot like other foreign owned clubs fans must feel. There's no connection between the owners and the fans, Bettis is characterless and looks like a rabbit in the headlights and the current 'manager' is on borrowed time and carries no gravitas. Added to all this we are getting beaten every week and the players are demoralised.

The sooner the new manager is here the better as there is a massive rebuilding job to be done that needs starting ASAP so I don't buy this 'there's no rush attitude'

I could understand the frustration if we still had a sniff of staying up like if Wilder had been given the boot in December but putting that aside the board could easily be looking at candidates based on the current players performances and asking one question...... What would you do to improve if you were appointed manager? Realistically it's easy to look good as a player in League 1 but the skill level of the Premiership means there is no where to hide

Ultimately Hecky has an extended job interview and the players have the option of whether they want to look in contention for next season. Personally if we can I would have liked the option of U23s being put into the squad with Hecky having the opportunity to actually have a go at bringing them through. Ultimately if you play the same system as Wilder and get beat he will be seen as the caretaker manager if he wants to be a contender, make a mark on the squad and ruffle a few feathers do it and you might get a bit of respect. This club always wears its heart on its sleeve and crest proudly worn on the shirt but I wouldnt be bothered getting beat 5-0 by Spurs if we were having a go with a different system some young talent and it was their quality showing.

If we are near the top of the Champioinship in November it will all be down to the board being patient and recruiting the right manager.

If we are near the bottom in November then it will all be down to being late in appointing a manager.

End of the season has been the mark right from the Wilder announcement.

For those desperate for news and updates. Doesn't the lack of an announcement suggest that the choice made is still in a job elsewhere? Does that then rule out Hecky, who could just be announced now?
